I wouldn't overload the mines unless you are selling it for a lot. +100 citizens on my marble=35/hour, those 100 citizens would make 300/hour doing nothing. That's with a lvl20 stonemason.

You'd have to sell the goods for 8.5g each and deal with the market sell times. Flip side is to BUY the goods off the market, if I can get them for under 8 I just lose the time in trade ships.

Just got experiments. I have been upgrading my opticina inpreparation (level 10) and this is my first experiment:

Conduct experiment

Our scientists have been experimenting for a long time and have finally discovered a way to create 6,542 research points. We need 11,776 crystal to conduct the experiments. But beware! The chemical reactions that happen during these experiments are quite loud and impressive. Thus the scientists need 4h afterwards to clear up their laboratory so that they can carry on experimenting with crystal.

I noticed, that you have to run the experiment in the town you have the optician's... The crystal cost for the above research is 13k+ in all my other towns.

I went with Democracy for now. I think I'd rather have the extra happiness at this point...can maybe help me drop my wine usage per town.

I just research wine press, but have to wait for burearacracy (sp?) before I can plant them (I'm out of spots on every town).

Agreed. It gets tough with only one wine when trying to save enough to get all your GR's upgraded as well as stocked enough for your taverns.

Getting wine presses built so I can lower the amount used per hour in taverns as well as how much is needed in each GR.

i have another 24 hours before I get bureaucracy which will unlock another building tile. then I'll go for wine presses in every city. I'm officially stupid though and forgot the different governments. 6 cities total, 617 RPs, and 56 cargo ships after bonus. so I'm guessing I'm pretty average or below average.
