Ikea 20% Student Discount - Emeryville

I was checking out at Ikea yesterday and they asked if I had a student ID. I asked what it got me, and she said 20% off. They were thorough in having the manager approve the ID and copying down the details, but it's a great deal if you are a student. Se said it was through september 30th, so it's good for a bit.

I don't know if other Ikeas are doing this, but if someone finds out I'll update the title.

Dam I wish someone posted about this before I bought $400 worth of stuff 3 days ago. Wonder if they can credit back 20% to me. Hate to take the bed apart and haul the mattress and bed over there for a return, and rebuy.

I'm sure they will let you - most stores will have you go back, they will do a return, and then let you buy it at 20% off. You shouldn't have to bring the furniture back, but might want to call and find out first.

do they care what school you go to as long you're a student? (ie- does the emervyville ikea "prefer" cal kids?)...I have a feeling they don't discriminate but just thought i'd check if anyone knew. thanks for the reminder OP

I'm sure its only at the Emeryville one since it posters were plastered around SFSU and SJSU campus. School wise I don't think they care as long as you are a college student.

I believe the discussion at FW a while back about this deal was that it worked at most the stores.
I believe it just isn't advertised much.

I just checked at the store in Woodbridge, VA. They confirmed that it was only for Emeryville. Lucky blokes.

The Costa Mesa store said they they are giving 20% off on some select items only. Not everything. Weak sauce.

 

yup, they dont got this in PA (plymouth meeting). too bad, i live 2 minutes from there and i need new stuff to move into my new apartment
