6th: i did leave food and water for him last night, my roommate is fing stupid as shit, shes the worst single mother in the world, feeds her 5-6year olds instant ramen every night. she says it might have ran out cause she leaves the door open sometimes. my cat IS an indoor cat, and i live in Antelope valley 1 hour north of LA but still in LA county. its 2.5k ft elevation so it gets below freezing at night. thats why im extra worried.

well lets see. i live 1.5 hours away from my gf and its really just a mon-thus bed to sleep. i go down to LA from thurs-to monday morning to stay with my gf. there was very little criteria when looking for a room to stay at. no drugs/no illegal shit, somewhat clean, no lease (this is month to month) no utilities. and i was kicked out by last landlord improperly so i was in a rush to get a place. ive been looking to relocate and get a new job asap away from this place. also antelope valley has alot of shady ppl so the roommate seemed friendly enough.

some people don't like to take out loans, i like to save my money for other things. you may like the comfort of your own place. i may not care as much, id rather have less debt and spend my money on my gf and take her on diff vacations and visit my family back in the east coast. so to each their own.

OP, you just never know with cats...I don't remember (and am too lazy to go back and re-read) how long have you had the cat in this residence?
If the cat is an indoor cat only...they often don't know how to get back to where they live...no "outside experience...no references" to guide them back home...especially if they've only lived there a short while.

MOST of us are hoping the cat finds its way back home...but you may need to get out and be proactive in the search as well.
Get out, walk around, call the cat...(which you may have already done, but it will need to be done frequently for a day or two.)
If you haven't had the cat a long time, or haven't lived in this place a long time, the cat MAY be trying to find its way to the home it knows...which may not be yours.

I hope you find your cat. I would be livid if that happened to one of my cats. I hate when maintenance comes to my apartment. They leave the door wide open. Luckily my cats hide when new noisy people come in, and maintenance doesn't come unannounced so I can put them in the bedroom.

ask around the neighborhood. back in the day, my sister lost her cat and could not find it for weeks. one day, she put up some fliers with pictures and it turned out that a neighbor had found it and was caring for it.

yea even though these are detached single homes, theres a shared mailbox so i will put fliers on all the shared mailboxes in the neigborhood. i will go home early and try to knock on everyones door before the sun goes down.
