I am suspicious of parody...

:hmm:

and banning TFP for replying in a potential parody thread?

Either way, parody or not implying harm to a pet should be par for the course is uncalled for.

OP...you should keep your pets indoors. Putting the cat outside is borderline ok in the country, but just like a toddler that want to roam outside at night too; too many bad things can happen.

I built a shelter last night as down here in Florida it hit 29F. There are a ton of feral and pet cats in my neighborhood that just roam. In 3 years I have had to bury about a dozen just on my block that have mostly been hit by cars...one or two appeared to be mangled by an animal.

When I worked for a veternarian almost every outdoor cat that needed x-rays showed their body riddled with BBs. The owners had no clue.

Wow pretty much deserved, but when were mods called Directors? Did I miss something?

Sucks about the cat though, if you were attached its hard to just let go.

ummm....Perky is running the show now.

(I believe that makes threads about humping inanimate objects not only acceptable but encouraged)

I am sure you cat will be fine out in the cold, OP. I see a neighborhood cat outside all the time and it is much colder here in NJ than CA. What did your roommate have to say about the missing pussy?

Oh, I know he was awesome, but he's dead now. That soft, furry body that gave you so much love is now a ravaged carcass, rotting in someones yard. I'm sure that person is going through their own personal hell right now, trying to decide what to do with the body. It's not easy, I know, but it's something you just have to get over.

Take the next month off. Before coming back, you will be personally and publicly apologizing to the OP for your astoudingly cold-hearted ignorance.

Our cat got outside last Tuesday right before we left for work, he does this somtimes and always comes back so it was nothing to really worry about. We got home that night and he still wanst back so we went out looking for him. We heard a faint meowing from the crawlspace under the house. I got under there and pulled him out.

One of our neighbors shot him with a 22. The bullett went through his front right leg into his chest and then stopped inthe front left leg shattering it. He had to lose his left leg but hes alive.

I really do feel for you OP.

WTF?! where the hell do you live? Are you feuding with this neighbor by any chance?

Sorry to hear, OP. If your cat had a special "wubby", then set that outside on your doorstep, or wherever he's likely to see/smell it. It might help, anyway.

I'd be crushed if any of my cats ran away. :'(

We live outside the city limits so it is not unnormal to hear gunshots, especially during deer season. We pretty much know who did this as were friends with most of the neighbors but no one around us was home and heard the shot, but we had nothing against him until this happened. We called the Sheriff's office and they wen to the veterinary clinic and retrevied the bullet. I doubt they do anything with it though.

I hope we do catch him because I am going to hand him this 1500 dollar vet bill.

Sorry to hear that, OP. I hope you will find your cat. My cat is 9 years old and he likes to stay indoor. Here are the new pictures I took last week. Images are resized to fit the host space.

Op either has a bad parody or is a lousy liar.

Temps in the LA area did not get anywhere near freezing. - check Weather.com went down to 50.

Now temps in the Maryland area (where he is) did get below freezing the previous night.

I don't follow. You're saying he's a bad liar because the temperatures where he is did go below freezing? It sounds like you're wrong...

Anyways. Last spring I accidentally left the sliding door open in my house while I was in the shower. My cat clawed through the screen and was missing for about 30 minutes. It absolutely sucked. All I could think about was how much I was going to miss him.

I searched and searched around my back yard and through some of the neighbors yards, but to no avail. I came back home and took another peek in the back yard and he was just standing by the door like nothing had happened. It was scary as heck for a while there.

I feel for you OP. I had a cat as a kid, but he was an outdoors animal, so I became closer to my dogs. This is the first animal I've owned as an adult and I can't imagine what I would go through if he were gone. Best of luck in your search.

Or maybe he just has the typical California perception of "freezing."

If cats died when the temperatures dropped below freezing then I don't think we would have the huge feral cat problem we do in this country. So I don't think you have much to worry about on that front.

Do you live in a really urban area? It's possible it got hit by a car. If you've had the cat for 2 months, it probably knows where it lives. They have an amazing sense of direction. If it hasn't come back by now I doubt it is going to on its own.

The other possibility is that someone else thought it was a stray and took it in to their house, so I guess you could try posting fliers, but that might be a hail mary...

Per his IP addy, past posts, and his ebay account, the OP lives in Lancaster, CA (the high desert.) It's in LA county. Hence the call to the LA county lost and found.

For those who don't already know, it does get very cold in the high desert at night. The Dec average lows in Lancaster are 29F: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lancaster,_California.

The next couple of nights, the lows are supposed to be in the 20's: http://weather.yahoo.com/united-stat...-2436084/#text

Furthermore, in his entire 5 year career here, the OP has ZERO history of trolling, attacking others, making fun of others, acting out in any way, or making any kind of parody post whatsoever.

Per my posted links earlier in this thread, the OP IS a fairly newly minted cat owner who is quite smitten with his kitten.

404 Parody thread NOT found.

OP, did you adopt him from a shelter or as a stray? Sometimes strays just bolt. In door out door cats are a roll of the dice. Mine has survived past 15 years old, but we had cats only last 8 or 9 years. On the whole, I like that cats can roam on safari in the yard, so it's worth it, even if it means they will live shorter lives.

Good luck.
