I'm a bit worried about my temps

Should I reseat it? The idle temp seems a bit high. Last time I installed it I used the wrong screw and it took me like 15 minutes to figure that out. I was wiggiling it around the whole time trying to get it to mount before I got the right screw and it went right in. Do you think my temps are high because I took too long to get it mounted last time? Should I try to remount it? It's sortof a hassle so I would rather not but if you think that would lower my temps...

EDIT: OH yeah I have excellent airflow, my GPU is at 39C idle and ~55C load, and my mobo is usually around 37C idle and 44C load. I have a modular PSU so that helps with airflow too. I spent about 3 hours on my cabling and it's almost perfect now.

You're fine, you may be able to get lower if you reseat the HSF but you don't need to.

I wouldn't be worried as long as you stay under 50C load, really. My 170@2.6 has around the same idle/load temps (though when running video encoding all night the other night, load did go up to 50C...I still wasn't worried). If you're at 2.8, those temps sound fine to me.

As long as you're under 50C load, you're doing perfect. The idle sounds about right for your settings. I'm running an Opty 144 at 2.8 as well right now, and it too idles at around 36-37C.

You're temps are fine, my IHS'less 146 gets a couple degrees under those. As long as they don't go above 50C you're fine.

Pfffft.. You are WELL within the limits, Personally I would push as high as 55c-58C if my overclock was stable..

60C is the cut off for me..

I have a A64 3500+, and was wondering if the max temp is about the same on my A64 as for the opterons?

Right now I'm running it in:

CPU: 10x250 = 2500
RAM: 5/6 * 250 = 208
HTT: 4x250=1000

I have the retail cooler and stock voltage (1.40V). I get 44-45C during Prime95 Torture test "blend". From what I understand, this is safe temps?

37ºC idle, isn't that body temperature? WTF man, that's a great temperature at the clock speeds you are running.

If you're worried, which you shouldn't be, enable Cool and Quiet. This will drop your idle temp up to 5C by lowering the cpu multiplier to x5. It also lowers the voltage which helps protect your chip a bit if you've raised it for your oc. My cpu runs at 5x280 on 1.25v at idle. I dont even notice its running as a 1.4GHz chip when surfing & doing other lightweight stuff. Then when I need the cpu at full power, C&Q seemlessly raises the multiplier & vcore back to their startup values (x9 & 1.55v). The only issue with C&Q is if you're using a memory divider since a changing cpu multi can increase the memory frequency which might cause the system to crash if the memory is already at max. My memory frequency changes from 229MHz on x9 multi, to 233 on x5. Also avoid C&Q if using a lower cpu multi for your oc since C&Q sets the default multi when the cpu becomes loaded. That's a nice overclock btw.
