If your ram can't handle the higher speed, you could set a memory divider, but that isn't the best way. P4's need the bandwidth.

Yes, they are expensive. You could also go with a regular Athlon 64 and even though they are non unlocked some people are getting some great overclocks on them, especially the .09nm Winchestor core models (I think they are available in the 3000+, 3200+, and 3500+ speed steppings).

Well, I have a P4 And it is locked in the bios but I have a nifty lil program from MSI called Corecell, and this program will increase the FSB by one until it detects system instability or restarts in that case it sets back a tad, and will use the maximum amount with the least system take performance drain, but that is auto, it lets you do it manually to, you can also change the fan speeds, overclock the ram and more plus you can set warnings etc, but I did alot of research before I went with a P4, and made sure I can overclock the processor and the ram, thats why i went with an MSI Corecell, p4 865 pe mobo. do you.. have an MSI board?

Have you installed the Sentances plugin yet? I've heard it's quite useful.

A64 are unlcked on any number lower. so that means if you have an A64 which I'm guessingis 200*10, you can access any multipliers below 10. Its very handy when you want to maximize your overlock, but you can't hit a higher freuqnecy (lets say 200*10 vs 250*8~ the latter will be faster although its the same speed).

There's little point to overclocking that willy, anyway.
If it's a socket 478 board, get a Northwood in there and marvel at the speed difference.

first off, HAHAHA at Viper, and secondly, Dopefiend, piss off, so I typed a run on sentence, it had valid information in it, not like a stupid comment, off topic, on my valid run-on sentence, but let this serve as a bump.
