I'm trying to standardize myself on only ever paying with my MasterCard or Amex. The MasterCard is the fastest of any option I've got because of PayPass. Love that feature.

The moment you use your credit card you are in debt until you pay it off. Tard.

hey tard, try it again, if i have a credit balance on my credit card and when i swipe my card for an amount under the credit balance I have on my card, am I in debt?

it doesn't matter how I can have a credit balance on my card, but when you assume "the moment you use your credit card you are in debt until you pay it off," you are a tard.

You are indebted to pay the money back. Thus you are in debt.

what dont you get? do you know what a credit balance is?

it is possible that the bank has a negative balance on your credit card. how would i be in debt if the bank will pay me money by sending me a check to clear the negative balance?

Does debit offer the same protections as CC? Honest question, as I thought that it did not.

I'm not 100% sure, but if I ever make a purchase from a vendor I'm not sure about, I do use an actual credit card. I've heard mixed things about whether or not debit cards give the same protection. I think they do, it is just the fact that your money is gone and has to be replaced vs. a credit card, where you dispute the charge and you're not actually waiting to be reimbursed.

I laugh at people who think they're getting a good deal by dropping 10's of thousands of dollars on their credit cards to get 1% back.

If you're going to spend the money regardless, you might as well get a reward for it. I agree with you if you're saying that people are increasing their spending just to get rewards.

Good call. Who uses cheques any more?

I don't currently use many (about 2 to 3 per month) but will do so if prices are raised for credit card usage over cash/checks. I will not even start to fill it out until the total is given either.:awe:

Fair enough.

It would have made your head explode (about 5 years ago) when I had $50,000 of credit card money at 0% rate invested in US treasuries earning about 6% interest ($3,000 per year). I was in debt but my "assets" and "interest" from such debt were great.....lasted about 3 years (dwindled down because of lack of companies giving 0% interest and the lowering of interest rates because of the recession).

Yes, I had $50,000 debt.
Yes, I had $50,000 assets.

Balance sheet at end: About $8,000 after interest earned and debt paid off with original assets.

You are in debt the moment you use a credit card. Tard. If you can pay it off every month then why get into debt? Tard. Just use a debt card Tard. Anyone can use a debit card. Tard. If the responsibility of actually having the money when you want to buy things, don't buy them. Tard.

Jesus, you're a serious dumbass.

brb, checking my reward balance on my Chase Freedom card, which has never charged me interest.

Edit: 15,524 points - worth $155.24 in cash. If you give me $155, I'll stop using my Chase card for a while.

If I do 10 debits per month on one of my accounts that account gets 3.25% simple interest, up to a 25,000 balance. I do that.

Me too, but my limit is $10,000. Love it, love it, love it.

I'm more concerned about someone draining the checking account due to theft of my debit card and then waiting for that to get taken care of. If I'm not personally swiping the card, then it's run on my Chase amazon.com rewards card.

right tard, so back to your original statement, do i make a debt just by using my credit card? NO.

don't make a general statement like that and call people tards on it. that just show how dumb you are.

Technically, he is right. You owe them money so you are in debt. Sure, you have the money in the bank so it's all good. He's just using semantics....

It's also possible that the credit card itself is worth more than your credit limit. It's possible so...

There is a bakery that will not take CC near me. They only take cash or check

I go to another bakery to give them my business. I dont shop at businesses stuck in the 1950's.

I have a list of stores in my head that have CC minimums. They can fuck right off.
