Plus the screens on my three laptops

Why I want them:

• So my monitors match
• Look how SLIM those monitors are
• My montors' bezels do not have straight edges, so mounting them vertically makes them look terrible

I could probably sell my monitors and buy the new ones without costing me very much, but until I sold them I would still be buying something I don't really need.

TLDR: Look how slim those monitors are.

Even though my job pays me practically nothing, because I keep my living expenses at the bare minimum and I go to a cheap school I actually save a reasonable amount of money.

About $10k a year so $400 (I would be buying the monitors on sale for $100/each) really doesn't even register on my money scale. BUT the entire reason I'm able to save money is because I don't buy crap.

And it's not like the monitors will increase my productivity or anything like that because I already have a quad setup, the purchase would be purely for aesthetics and to get rid of the annoyance of having multiple mismatched monitors. They would actually be a downgrade on physical size because I would get rid of my two 23"s.

They would be replacements. I would almost certainly get rid of my existing monitors (although I may keep the touchscreen) by selling and/or giving them away to friends and family.

You'd have to give away those old monitors or sell on craiglist for next to nothing. Shipping would make it not worth it and why is anyone gonna give you a good deal of money for your old monitors when they could buy a shiny new one with the slim bezels too?

I forgot to mention, the LED monitors use less than half the power. For each monitor that's about <$20/year. So after a year my actual cost for each monitor is $80, after two years $60...

How many hours a day do you stare at those monitors? If they annoy you because they look bad then removing that annoyance improves the quality of your life.

I heavily considered this for a while, but was eventually drawn in by the super thin LED screen with thinner bezel and less power consumption for $20 less, the caveat being that it is 2 inches smaller.

I think you can get a better deal than that. Just wait and check out Slickdeals/Fatwallet/etc daily, a great deal will come around and you'll be happy you waited. I got 2 nice e-IPS 22" dells for $400 total (even cheaper now), and for me the quality was well worth it. Even for non-photo/video applications, its like having sex looking at those monitors. But if the slimness if what you really want, then its not a bad price at staples with the coupon (let me know if you need a couple spare $25 off $100, I got some lying around)

I don't do any graphic editing or anything that requires precise color replication.

It's mostly homework, programming, web browsing, etc. Basically I don't think I would get my moneys worth out of a nicer dell monitor.

I doubt these will get any cheaper anytime soon.

[edit] And I'm actually considering the 24"s again. I have my 23"s along side my 22"s here and it's actually a bit of a difference.
