i have a forums server that my friends and I bought back a little over a year ago (about 190 bucks.) When my host went down cause i chose not to renew, we (actually I cause everyone else lost interest) put everything on hypermart. All the posts were lost. The only reason we had it cause we had a huge gang of friends and we went all over the globe after graduating. So we wanted a form of communication. Well when tranferring, i couldnt get it to work again and what not, so i did a fresh reinstall, but the forum never took off, and mostly the only reason its visited is b/c people here put their CS clan name on. But then last night i get this:

not, it needs to be removed right away, before Infopop
is notified. the reason i ask is because your site is
hosted on Hypermart, which is free, while a UBB
license costs $200. it would seem that if you can
afford a legal UBB, you can also afford decent
hosting.
if you don't reply to this message, i will assume your
board is pirated, and thus report it to Infopop.

hehe. at first i was like, egh, no biggie, he just looking out for the company. worse comes to worse ill e-mail him a copy of everything i have to prove it. (which i shouldn't have to but will to the right people if needed) then i go check around and hypermart hosts like hundreds of em, even one of the larger boards is on hypermart right now. So is this guy (who i know is some nobody bc it came from a yahoo email) just looking out for the company or does he think he is hawaii 5-o all of a sudden??
and is 200 bucks really that much?? i mean with the same concept in mind, dont people put flashy ridiculous rims on some beat up car?? and if i dont answer, im guilty?? what if i was away on business?? i wouldnt have checked my email for weeks. arg!
