Im addicted to Mexican Food!!!

when my gf and i went to chicago, we went to this (presumed) mexican owned fajita restaurant (on belmont (sp?) street i think) and i had this amazing chicken chipotle fajita. The sauce was a little more bland than the kind i was used to from Applebees, but nonetheless, it was delicious.

Yes, Chipotle, Qdoba, and Illegal Pete's all have quite good burritos. They're more or less the same thing. Do you people east have any of these places?

Next time you get a taco, scrape out just the meat into a neat little pile, and eat it. All by itself. No hot sauce, either. (Just make sure you have a plastic bag or something for, uh, leftovers.isgust

Any *good* taco, you could take out the meat and it's a meal in itself.

yup, you know which place has the best queso though, magnolia cafe by far. Its better than kerbey lane even. That's a good after 6th breakfast place. They also have these breakfast tacos there that are soooooo goood.

for cheap, fast, tex-mex i usually hit taco cabana or a taqueria. fajita combo loaded with cilantro, onion, and lime juice.

I know lots of authentic Mexican places that don't serve mole. It's kind of a regional thing. The last place I went to was pretty authentic, but the mole tasted like onion soup...it was gross.

And wtf? Chipotle is some kind of Taco Bell knockoff???? We don't have that in the Philly area. Chipotle is a kind of roasted pepper.

I would really suggest checking out Taco Bueno if there's one nearby.... I have recently been very pleasantly surprised with their Big ol Burrito and Muchacos... You can get a mammoth high-quality meal with super huge drink for less then $5, the real mexican restaurants can't even come close to that low.

mag queso rules. kerbey queso changes every time i go there, sometimes its good, sometimes its weird. for some reason i always get the bottom of the bag for chips though, they're always broken up.

Dunno what Chipotle's you guys are talking about but there's a few of 'em here in SoCal and they're incredible. Massive burritos and spicy as hell. Easy and fast when you can't find a real taqueria.

Locally (ok like 2 miles down in the ghetto) in LA there's this tiny shack called El Cihualteco Taqueria. For $3 you can get this big-ass Pura Carne burrito which is just that - a flour tortilla filled with meat, and only meat. By the time you get to the end, assuming you've had the wrapper on, there's this HUGE pool of grease soaking the bottom of the thing.. mmmmm... their tacos are heavenly too..

As far as sit-down restaurants go, El Coyote and El Cholo are tops.. great Margaritas..
