I hate upgrading software, so I always resist it. Well, unfortunately, I used this approach to the dnet client, so much of my herd was running 4.58. It was also more convenient since, with the latest keyserver proxy, no need to worry about OGR even with no changes in the ini file.
Well, last night I was finishing up a TBird 700 build and, since it was connected to the network, I figured I'd just grab the client (ver 4.63) directly from Dnet instead of pulling out my install floppy.
WHAT A DIFFERNCE!
Where the Athlon 700's were doing about 2.1M Keys/s with 4.58, they are now doing 2.4M Keys/s on the classics and 2.47M Keys/s on the TBirds! That's a free extra 300K! Needless to say, I've been spending the day upgrading cows.
