I'm Burned out

The weekend before Finals I always went on vacation. Went skiing, to the lake, camping, SOMETHING. My theory was, if you dont know it by now you aint gonna get it down in just a few days. Finals are just a rehash of all the old material. Take some time off, go have fun. You may not know EVERY answer, but you'll walk into the Finals feeling refreshed and ready instead of half brain dead and burned out with 100 answers floating around in your head that you cant keep straight.

also, i haven't been eating properly the past few weeks. im usualy hungry 60% of the time i'm awake, and i nver go to sleep before 3:00 AM

I studied so much in the last 12 hours, OMG, I don't feel my brain. My test is at 2:00 PM. I am gonna try and stay awake till then.

my test is in an hour and 45 minutes at 8am est. i stayed up all night cause i cannot sleep early enough to have enough sleep for my body to feel normal and be up by 7am. i would rather get no sleep than 3 hours of sleep. good luck to all w/finals

I totally disagree. Finals is the time to solidify everything you've learned, to get another look at the big picture if you haven't gotten it already. And for people that are learning it for the first time, any knowledge, even while dead tired, is better than no knowledge. When you're dead tired and confused, you'll at least get partial credit. When you're wide awake and completely lost, you will get no credit.

Do not give up. Do not give up. Do not give up.

Go take a break. Try to nap. Watch tv, or play video games. Always be aware that it's better to bust your ass now than think about what could've been 2 weeks later.

Bwhaha, Damage control. I've been on damage control for the last two weeks straight This afternoon is the last exam though, so after that it's time to party and go home ( weather depending ) Woo!!!

well i took the final today.

on only 8 hours of sleep for the past 3 days too!


it wasn't as bad as i wa thinking. there were a few problems i got stuck on, but as i said, it was damage control. i plan on retaking it next semester so i have a good understanding of it before i continue on, and think next year will be a lot easier since i already know 60% of the material

Meteorology final was last thursday aced that. NowI got my Calculus final on wednesday, and Literature final on thursday. Literature is going to be a breeze 90% of the test is the essay which is on a book I just finished reading. Tonight and tommorow is going to be calculus study time, heck I might get straight A's if I do good enough on the caluclus test. Probably not but I have to really shoot myself in the foot to get a C, refresh the old stuff and hope for the best.

agreed, if you just keep reading and reading your mind will just numb itself from over-exertion and then you're screwed. Give the brain a break before your finals.

actually, i never encounter mind blocks. i normally retain a lot the mroe tired i am, unless it is math. then i need to be fully rested, and take my time to understand and retain


like one week i was slaughtered by finals/projects. i crammed 4 chapters of spanish, and remembered 97% of EVERYTHING i read!!! all this on just 3hours sleep for the previouse 2 days!!! :Q


of course, once i passed that exam, i immediately deleted the information from my mind, to load up on the next subject

I spent 7 hours yesterday preparing for a naughty history final I had to take bright and early this morning. And I'm glad I did. Now I have to skim over a few hundred pages of assorted info for a communications exam. I can't wait.

My physics final was rather tough. Relativity and Quantum physics. He pulled some tricky stuff on us.

But here's my theory regarding finals week. I usually have a tough time sleeping the night before a final, and I believe that if you can actually get a good night sleep the night before a final, then you are ready for the exam. If you can't, then you don't understand everything that well and have low confidence. So how you sleep before a final will tell you everything
