So it looks like years of hard work are paying off... i'm going to direct a feature length drama! the budget is secure, the actors have been hired so now I'm off to direct a feature film.. I'm pscyhed!

It's currently untitled and you'll probably see it in a film festival before a theater - I'm catiously optimistic - maybe you'll see it on video

Have no idea. I'm the director, not the producer. They hired me first and will be casting soon. Production's about 2 months away so we'll have some time.

You said in the original post that the actors have been hired. As the director you should also have some kind of say in who your actors are.

The leads are cast but I haven't met them yet. the rest (12 more people) are not cast... I don't know why i contradicted myself, I'm very tired. The lead actress is named Fransesca Avita and the lead actor is victor..shoot, i forgot his last name.. Gerone?

Well, I went to film school, did a few free gigs (like 5) as a P.A., did my own unpaid gigs like crazy (14 this year, over 30 in total), and recently worked on music video gigs. I average one paid gig a week now and have just become a very good networker. I've been getting D.P. gigs lately but one of the actors I worked with mentioned me to the producer of this and one thing lead to another.

you guys can knock me as much as you'd like. I just got a very cool 9 to 5 job and got a wonderful opportunity to direct a feature film - and i did it through hard work. I'm not rich nor did I know anyone..so.. yeah, i made some crappy movies and will continue to make crappy movies - i'm proud of that. it's called trial by error, learning by doing.. instead of being lazy and just criticizing..

Nope, the script isn't that good... but I'm saving up money to self produce a script i'm working on - maybe that will get in
