exactly. don't listen to these guys cause if you follow thru with what you love to do you're eventually gonna break it in the industry and make a name for yourself. filmmakers dont' get the respect they deserve until they're famous (besides the indie circuit). kinda sucks.

BTW, when you get yourself a big budget and need some CG effects, lemme know lol

hah.. i know what you mean! I've worked with so many film school directors! they're so frustrating to work with. luckily i'm poor so I didn't jump straight from film school to directing. I've been a piss boy, I've carried tracks, I've set up lights.. I've done all the grunt work - I know what it's like to be on a crew and treat my crew well..

The reason he gets knocked around here is because he masks his posts of his work as looking for comments, but then he never uses the constructive comments and just ignores them. He also NEVER posts finished work. It's always a rough cut. I still don't believe that he actually finishes any projects he works on.

How much are they paying you?

I can't really say, but I'm taking a pay cut. My usual rate is $400 a day but I reduced is since it's a feature and requires a few weeks worth of shooting. I wanted to help them stay under budget so I'm giving them a good deal. They also agreed to let me hire a d.p. that i've worked with in the past as well as this audio genius that I know so, yeah, me and my co-workers are all benefitting from me taking a slight pay cut.

Great, book marked the site. i'm really focusing on low/no budget dramas and comedies myself but will forward your link to people who need some graphics work done. I go to way too many networking parties and some of the requests people have are weird and you'll never know what people are looking for. One person asked me if i knew were to get black lotuses and another was thinking about having a film screening on a roof overlooking the new york skyline.. maybe someone will need some design work done.

it was intentional.. sure it was! I'm just exhausted. Left the house at 6 am and had three interviews, edited some video, delivered a finished (and crappy) music video, and had to treat someone to dinner (someone very cute but who I have no chance with.. actresses.. sigh...)... long days lead me to misuse cliches!

thanks for rooting for me I'm buying all my friends and co-workers beer and cigars for getting this gig - I'll try to get the atot community something cool once I really make it!

Can you change the plot to include space aliens and naked girls? Put in a scene where the girls are dissing men with small penises -- that will make it more realistic.

Hell, my brother could learn from you. He wants to be a film maker, and bought some expensive (relatively) equipment (Canon XL1, Tripod, computer for editing...etc..) and has hardly used it at all. Then he bitches about not making it even though he's never even started to try. Now he wants to go to film school. Maybe it's what he needs...
