Anyways, sorry to ramble. Congrats. Looks like your work is starting to pay off. Now this movie, later you'll have the pull to do your own scripts and make something great. Things seem to be falling in place fo you. Good luck.
MacBaine is probably the best film maker on atot. He's not some poser independent film artsy type of fool. Definitely have your brother e-mail MacBaine. Some of his past work just blows away this wannabe garbage that SOME film makers like to push.

Thanks Unfortunatly I have a black book full of names of talented people I should call up... PM me sometime- maybe you'd like to join my non-profit group. It's a great way to get reel worthy material down if you live in NYC.

If you ever need someone that's never acted before and would probably be horrible at it, just let me know. I don't mind making a fool out of myself. Only problem is I'm in Ohio, but don't mind driving to NYC.

Maybe one of your films will catch Kim Jong 2 eye and you get kidnaped and forced to direct some rubish for his amusement.

Congratulations! My college roommate has a story very similar to yours in terms of career path, but he hasn't gotten his big break just yet. Hollywood is a tough place, good luck and keep up the good work!

Go play with your Power Rangers with your buddy Macbaine.

Hey,
I'm not going to get into a flame war with the Perdue university crew so I'll just directly address your post. I know a LOT of people who b1tch about nothing happening while they don't do anything. Tell him that he can't wait for an opportunity to come his way. I shoot something every week. He has equipment - set the equipment up and tape himself doing a monologue if he can't find a crew. I actually spent hours doing stuffed animal movies because I wanted to practice editing but didn't have any footage to edit.

Once he gets out there and starts working on his art then things will happen. First he needs to learn the basics (that will come by reading and practicing with buddies/ family members). Then he should make some business cards and hit the local arty hang outs. I spend one night a week getting drunk with strangers and network like crazy. I give out an average of 500 cards a month - you never know when someone will give you a call. I've gotten my best gigs through networking.

I'm ranting.. PM me and I'll give you my email address - i'd love to chat with your brother so that we can share our mutual experiences and learn from each other.

Congrats and good luck! I'd imagine most people doing creative work realize that they have to deal with criticism so I don't think a bunch of anonymous comments on a message board are going to ruin anyone's day.

Congrats and disregard PowerMac's comments. He was playing in a silo back on the farm as a kid and accidentally got a corn cob permanently lodged in his ass.

hopefully you won't fill it to the brim with art-house jerkoff cliches as per your usual work.

let us know if you need any suggestions for how not to completely waste 10,000.

So I guess you go to the local middle school and make fun of the 14 year old virgins there... your insult makes no sense.

Yes, I am a badass and the first line of my sig adequately describes my badassness

I can't play with power rangers with my buddy macbaine for two reasons:
1. i don't have any
2. i'm 2.5 hours away from where macbaine lives.

I recommend reading up some of my old material from 2 years ago. My old stuff should be a few years ahead of your latest routine... so come back when you have absorbed some of my sweet classic insults. Also, feel free to PM me for tips.
