Sorry, but 6 weeks is just the beggining of the honeymoon period. Marriages like this would work (like my parents), but they are traditional chinese who would never consider divorce as a possibility. Kids these days (especially in more liberal societies like the US) won't put up with sh!t for long time. That's why divorce rates have gone up because women don't feel like they should put up with XX problems that comes up. Anyways, good thing is that you will wait 2-3 years before getting married.

Week 2: Dating continues, at the end of the week he asks me to be his girlfriend
Week 3: Intimacies and those three little words are exchanged (I've never fallen in love, ever... until him, until now)
Week 4: More dating/spending time together
Week 5: 10 days spent in New Mexico with his family (USC's Spring Break, my

Week 6: He asks me to be his wife, and I accept his proposal... rings are exchanged
Week 7 (current): Plans are in the works for him to fly to Dallas with me to meet my family April 8-11... hopefully all will go well, and that my family will accept/approve of him

I just have a bad feeling about this but if this is what you want am happy for you. Hope everying works out great.

I dated my Ex-GF for about 3 years, the first year was was amazing but the last year I finally start to see the real side to her.

It really takes a long time to get to know someone so for 6 weeks, that just lust love.

Have you ever imagine waking up next to a person what you only known for 6 weeks?

Congratulations. Nice to hear a romantic story in a tech forum.

No time off from work in 2 years? You want to take it easier. You own you business?

I have not taken many days off in 1 year + but my situation is temporary (I hope).

No, not a chance in hell, because they don't know you well enough to do so after such a short amount of time. I don't honestly see any possible way in hell you could evaluate your life together with this person, hell you barely know someone after 6 weeks. It is just way too short to have any idea if your even compatible with this person. Alot of people in this thread will call you insane and crazy.... it isn't because were a$$holes or want to smash your plans, but everyone in this thread knows the odds of this lasting, and they arent good. You barely know this person.

Either way I still wish you luck as Im sure everyone else here does also.

hmmm, my wife and i got engaged after having known each other for only about 6 weeks. we were married less than a year after that and most of that waiting was due to timing issues.

9 yrs of marriage later, we are still solid.

Gratz!
I wish you the best.
It's a huge responsibility but when you have found that right person, don't ever let go.
Many people will go through life and never find that person, count yourself to be one of the lucky ones, I know I am.

Yea that I had to read that twice. :Q

But hey true love doesn't always take 6 months either. I have always said when you finally meet that person you'll know.

On a side note for some reason the song from Love Boat started playing in my head, wtf.

I'm sorry I can't offer my congratulations as I think you're cruisin' for a bruisin'. You should read some of Dr. Laura's books! Like "10 Things Women Do to Screw Up Their Lives". You can't know a person well enough in two months to commit to him/her - perhaps not even in two years... Step back and take a breath.
. This is the voice of reason here, I hope you're listening.
