I still do a college radio show (in recent years Wednesdays, 3-6PM Pacific Time, on KALX, Berkeley, UC Berkeley radio, 90.7FM and streaming from www.kalx.berkeley.edu), been pretty regular since 1980. Back then you could play damn near anything on the air, say damn near anything. I played songs like "Let's Fuck" by D.O.A., "Fuck Me Dead" by The Forgotten Rebels, "I Think You're Shit" by The Fuckups. All great songs, but we never play stuff like that anymore. We used to play them unedited, no problem. Nowadays we'd be kicked off the air by our station management. The FCC could fine us thousands of $$$. The USA has gotten a lot more restrictive with the media. I think the push for freedom from the fervor of the 60's leading into and through the 70's got burned away. I suppose you could blame Reagan for a lot of that, I do.I wonder what this place looked like in the early 2000s?
Was it like the wild west? Could you post whatever you wanted (within reason) without any issues?

I think I'm still in denial that I'm an introverted nerd. My job (proj mgmt), my public speaking skills, and etc all point to extroversion. But I've learned that introverts acting like an extrovert is very common (e.g. artists/comics/musicians crushing it on stage, scared of fan interaction in the backstage).
