Don't listen to the haters. If you want and love that tattoo, then get it. I think it has the potential to be a sick tattoo. Especially the sketchart style. Just be damn sure you pay the big bucks and go to good artist for it. Look in tattoo magazines and find someone who's does really well with artistic style black and grey, who's within a few hundred miles of you. If you go to JimBob's Tattoo Emporium then it will turn out like ass.

That said, the outside shoulder is an obvious spot, I'd also say under your arm (on the ribs).

Tattoo's are forever, so unless you will like this film when you are 70 and in a nursing home get another one.

That being said, I have had one for almost 10 years and don't regret getting it a bit and would not hesitate to get another one.

It has never made sense to me, but whatever floats your boat.

Tattoo "craze"?

Hmmm....I would say there was a short lived craze with the tribal arm band thing around the late-90s and early-00s. Aside, though, I think meaningful tattoos are only getting more popular. And the quality has gone up greatly since a) there are now some serious tattoo artists that present their stuff as artform, and b) people have become more educated about the artists in their areas (looking at online portfolios, etc).

Damn, what a bunch of negative assholes. I think its awesome and I really like that sketch. Its a shame that someone else has it, but eh, mine will look better.

I think its a great idea. Can you explain what the movie means to you? Please have something other then "its cool" because your originality for picking a tattoo like this would be shattered.

To me that tattoo means a couple things (the movie means a lot and nothing at once, kinda the key to surrealism). The tattoo's an homage to two of my favorite artists, Luis Bunuel being the greatest director of all time IMO (in the film its his hand holding the razor). I think the image is haunting, the stoic look in her eyes, while they stare wide open. She sees what's coming and just accepts it. Kinda a parallel for the things we sometimes see coming, but let happen anyway. It has a lot to do with past loves and also that time I got my eye gouged out with a razorblade.

So hang it on your wall...not your body. Tattoos are lame.

We all carry things with us every day. Sometimes its nice to have a visual reminder of what makes you who you are. I realize tattoos aren't everyone's cup of tea, but damn, live and let live, to each his own, and all that bs. I don't see the point of being so down on something that has absolutely nothing to do with you.

It's something I feel strongly about. I know many people who got tattoos in the military when they were young, up and down both arms and now that they're in their 30s they cover them up in shame at work. I don't really care if you get tattoos and I don't judge once you have them but if asked about them I'll certainly voice my opinion.

Personally, I know for a fact that the stuff I thought was really cool when I was in my late teens early 20s isn't something I'd want plastered all over my body in my 40s.

Give it some consideration. How will this look on your body when you're 30, 40, 50 years old? Will it still look cool to you then or will you think it sucks and wish you never got it?

Tattoos are something people grow to love or regret. People who regret tattoos get them without thought and for the wrong reasons. I've tried to talk a few of my dumber friends out of those tattoos. I've put a lot of thought into this. Its impossible to say what 20 years might do to change how I feel about it, but why do anything in life if you're worried you you will have regrets?

Because tattoos are permanent? And completely unecessary?

as is riding a bike to work and holding up traffic, but you do it right?

Yeah, I really should embrace our reliance on cars as a nation and drive in every single day regardless of how insignificant my impact is one everyone else's commute when I ride my bike.

I see your correlation though, a guy has to wait an extra two seconds behind me to make a turn and Siva has to get a tattoo that will be on his body for the rest of his life. I would jump to that conclusion also...all of my posts are null.

it's called one has their own level of importance to things. Some have more of a backbone to stick by them for life though.

So, what you're saying is that people without tattoos have no backbone...or less of a backbone than those who do? Riiight...

Ummm reading comprehension please and don't add more into a phrase than was stated.

I said nothing of tattoos. I said some have more of a backbone to stand behind something for life, not worrying that they may change their mind.

These kinds of people are comfortable with themselves and can dismiss something as something they did in a different time of their life.

I feel bike riding may be your secret way of being a rebel...unfortunately no one notices it for that and it just gets in the way of most.

 Perhaps...maybe just a little.

I still have no desire to ever get a tattoo.

Seriously, what a crappy tattoo. How drunk were you when you thought this one up? It's drawn particularly badly, too.

That is what I thought. But get it if you get this tattoed on your forehead.

"dmub saw I"

but hey, I am an old fart and wouldn't have one or any intentional holes in my body.

When I was kid I was so into My Little Pony that I wanted one tattooed on my back but my parents advised that I get a temporary tattoo first and if I still liked MLP in a few years then I could get a real one. Well, they were right, it was only a phase and so I got one of Skeletor instead because I'm sure I will never outgrow that. I mean, I am confident that my development is stagnant.

No, that was covered in a tattoo to make it look like an angry sandworm.

This seems like something Sweeny Todd might want for a tattoo. Is there some connection here you just really don't want to talk about? Please, talk about it!:gift:

heh, i was going to say make it something goatse-like

i really like that image, if done nicely it could be a very good tattoo
I would get it on my upper back either on the left or right side....

lot of haters in this thread... people get tattoos for many reasons, for some it's something that has a significant meaning, others it's just another form of art.... to each his own

That is amazing. Thought I actually don't know anyone with a MLP tattoo, I do know someone with a unicorn on fire on his bicep. His explanation for the tattoo is "its just cause I don't give a fuck" and he doesn't. It looks pretty badass IMO.
