I work out of my car so I couldn't live without data on my EVO. Sprint's prices make it somewhat more bearable than VZW.

I use a cheap Samsung slider with T-Mobile prepaid, plus an iPod Touch. It's a hassle of course, but I average about $20/month of calls, and having data isn't worth the extra $50 or $60 a month.

i use mine to remote into customers systems and do repairs when needed, look up stuff on the net when im bored and out and about. i also use mine for emergency work calls and emails, im on call pretty much 24/7 for what i do.

but unless you have the need for one, i can see dropping the data plan and having a regular phone again. as for the enV3, my daughter has one, its a second line on my account. i dont pay the 9.95 fee tho, its pay per use so far. im hoping they dont force me to change that later on, its not worth the 10 dollar data fee with that browser. also, they changed the rules for vcast browsing. it now costs against your data use to browse for songs, ringtones and apps.

Dump Verizon and activate the phone on PagePlus Cellular. They will activate any Verizon phone except Blackberrys.

The 1200 min, 1200 text, 50mb data plan is $29.99 per month, more than I will ever use.
I just bought a 6 month old perfect shape HTC Eris Android phone on Craig's list. The phone and a month of PagePlus service is less than a month of Verizon service.

Just switched from a traditional plan/flip phone to a touchscreen dumbphone with unlimited data. What a change! I find myself using the data features and texting all the time now, the voice not so much -- 11/300 minutes for voice after a week. text is 1337x more convenient for people I communicate with. Youtube comes in handy too, as does google nav.

$25/month with Virgin Mobile, $129 upfront for the LG Tumor Ouch phone. Beats the $60/mo I was paying for the previous phone.
