im going back on accutane..

My doctor just increased my prescription of accutane, for 2 pills a week (2 months of using it) to like 10 pills.
I didn't see any sideeffect when I was on the 2 pills a week, just chapped lip. Should I be concern about depression and stuff?

and also is it ok to use proactive at the same time with accutane? i dont want to irritate my acne.

You should ask your doctor that question. Even if anyone here was qualified to answer it, we don't know your history.

I have been on accutance, a good while ago, and I don't recall depression as a side effect.
Not that it isn't just that I never experience it, nor was it mentioned to me by my doctor.

When I was on it, the biggest problems I had, were chapped lips, and dry skin.
Oh and the occasionally noise bleed that really didn't want to stop.

I would talk to the doctor that put you on accutane, my dermatologist gave me something for
the chapped lips that worked well.

kage, i didnt notice any difference. heh.

as for ortho-tricyclen.. i was on that before when i was on accutane.. i just switched to the shot in march. i dont like it because i always forget to take it and its not as effective. the shot is very very effective and you only have to get it once every 3 months. it also stops your period

i dont like proactiv.. i think its a waste of money. it didnt work for me at all and its expensive!

yep ! (for the pregnancy test) there is one included in the bloodwork, and then they test you at the doctors office too.

yeah, you should talk to your doctor, but i really doubt that you should use it. my doctor told me to not use any soap unless its like dove or something thats really moisturizing.. i have one of those micro-fiber washcloths that i have been using for years, usually without soap, and it works really really well.

The only girls I dated in high school didn't care. I never really had a problem.

I dated a girl with what I guess many would consider bad acne. It never bothered me she was awesome enough that it didn't matter.

Dont give up on trying proactiv, try it again and this time use it for atleast 2 weeks as directed. It works.
We dont want you to go insane on accutane cause you are very cute :heart:
