I'm going nuts trying to decide...X-BOX or PS2???? Please give some advice...

I've read reviews, but all seem to be biased one way or the other depending on the sponsers/advertisers in the publication or website. Can I get some honest feedback from any of you guys who have either of these systems? thanks so much!!!

I and another friend have the XBox, and a couple of friends have a PS2 here at my dorm. While the PS2 is played sometimes, we are always playing the XBox's. Hooking them up and playing Halo over the internet or on the school LAN. Lots of fun.

I think, for the moment, PS2 has the edge in ammount of good games. But come christmas the XBox will have plenty of awesome titles. And there are a few awesome ones coming out in the next couple of months as well. I think that the real choice now is XBox vs Gamecube. PS2 wouldn't be a choice for me now.

PS2 has GTA3. None of the upcoming GTA games will show up on any other systems besides the PC and the ps2. While I'm not totally sure of how MS plans on doing their online service, I heard something about a fee-based system to play. I know that the ps2 games will not all be pay-to-play-online. Ps2 plays DVDs w/o a $30 addition.

Xbox has halo and lots of potential though. I'm happy with my ps2 at the moment

Oh, and try searching for ps2 or xbox. This has been rehashed over and over and over again.

if you buy now because you want to play the games of now, get a PS2 for sure. if you want an xbox, just wait. dont buy a console based on expectations and potential.

since i already have a ps2, ive been looking into GC and xbox. so far, xbox is way behind. i can think of at least 4 games i can buy now with 10 more in the future for tehe GC. as with xbox, i can only think of 5 games i would buy now and future (those that have been announced). and we have an xbox in our apartment, and that thing collects more dust than our air vents. halo is not all that. i got bored in 6 hours. single player, multiplayer, lan.. either way it was the same game and pretty boring to me. we have 2 PS2s in my apartment and those get used all the time. even the dreamcast, snes, and sega genesis gets more playing time than the xbox. pretty sad.

It's funny that you mention GTA 3...that's the one thing that's pulling towards a PS2, seriously. The X-Box seems to have some great games like Halo, and I'm sure come the holiday season like you mentioned, there will be more kick@ss titles.

Get GTA3 for your PC. It is better than the PS2 version, and then you don't need a PS2.
