Good job. Moderation is great but IMO 4-5 sodas a week is still too many. Try to limit it to 1-2
1-2 12 ounce cans a day is perfectly fine.

One trick to giving up something is to 'replace' it with something else.
Good, more delicious soda for me.
No, really. I mean it.
I think I even started a thread about this about 3 years or so ago here on ATOT. I failed in my plight that time. I'm really going to quit this time. I have the support of a girlfriend who lives with me, and we eat nearly every meal together, which should help.
I drink a LOT of pop-it almost exclusively replaces water in my diet. Probably a minimum of 5 or 6 "cans" (or equivalent amount) a day. I eat reasonably healthy, exercise often, and am not overweight (in fact, I'm kind of skinny). But that doesn't mean I feel as though my mind and body are running at 100%.
I'm tired of spending the money. I'm tired of rotting my teeth and fighting gnarly breath. I'm tired of literally "needing" the caffeine because I get headaches without it, and spiking/crashing from the huge sugar intake. I'm tired of not sleeping well, and feeling anxious and nervous all the time. I'm not naive enough to think that quitting cola is going to solve all my problems, but it won't hurt. Certainly, the stuff isn't doing me any good.
Anyway, I'm gearing up for the headaches, grouchiness and grogginess that I'm sure will ensue in the coming days and weeks. Wish me luck...
I gave up daily soda a long time ago after discovering it was causing most if not all of my stomach issues. Drinking just juices / gatorade / mostly water. I miss it though and have it occasionally when I know I'll be home for a while (bathroom freedom).
lol yeah, this guy IS silly - his name was a good choice
the more i read, the more i think im probably wrong about him drinking alcohol since he is probably 12 years old
NO WAY, i left it 3 years ago after reading the thread you made 3 years ago, thinking if anyone on ATOT can do it, so can I......... i feel betrayed
At least he isn't part of the demographic that calls all soda (pop) "COKE"
That map is based on 120,000 respondents. lmao.
However you wish to disseminate it, there are people that call it soda or pop and there are actually some that refer to all soft drinks coke.

Ever since my trip to Hungary and some other European locales, I have really taken to seltzer water.
Seltzer water's the shit. I really liked flavored Strathmore from Scotland. It tasted great, and wasn't badly priced. I think they quit importing it or something cause I haven't seen it in awhile. My favorite unflavored is Gerolsteiner. It has a good taste; lots of minerals.
I have been trying to find a place to buy imported mineral waters domestically, but no luck so far. I imagine the money just is not there to make it profitable.
Any ideas?

I sometimes say "fountain drink" or "soda fountain."It doesn't change the fact that the vast majority of places where some would say "pop" the others use what isn't even on that list: "drink" (AKA "none of the above"). When you limit the options, you get the wrong answers. A perfect example of this is my brother above saying that we use "soda" or "soft drink" when we need to be non-specific about a flavored sweetened drink, when in reality this reoccurring conversation is almost the only time it is ever actually uttered. So he's wrong: We usually use "drink." You order a combo and don't specify the drink and the person in the window will ask you which "drink" you want with that. You ask someone to get you a Sprite from the "drink machine." See?
Now, VERY often, people will call a vending machine with drinks a "Coke Machine" even if they aren't the type to call any soft drink a "Coke" and even if the machine, in fact, only carries non-Coke products. This comes from the machines prominently displaying the brand despite carrying many other flavors and it comes from the preponderance of Coke machines vs. Pepsi and others long ago with Coke being the bigger, more established brand. It's just like calling all cotton swabs "Q-Tips" and all facial tissue "Kleenex" and all online researching "Googling."
Even as a child, I was never big on soda. Once in a great while, an ice cold coke is great. Ever since my trip to Hungary and some other European locales, I have really taken to seltzer water. Makes a better mixer too if that is your bag.
OP, replace Coke with something healthier for your body such as beer, wine. Sterno in a pinch.
Ruh oh, there's someone in this thread championing his mountain dew obsession with being justified because alcohol is worse for you.
I will enjoy a beer or wine with dinner, oh the humanity.
I spent 6 months in WV and couldn't understand why people were going out of their way to say "pop" instead of the drink name.
