UPDATE 4/11/06
Wow, last night's show [Bob Dylan w/ Merle Haggard] was such a crazy diverse crowd. This was played at an indoor arena that only holds about 9,000. I won't go into show details today, because most of you know what Dylan is like live. But I did want to explain something I have never seen before.
This show was a seated show - meaning there wasn't a general admission area. We were about the 20th row back (center). For the first 6 songs of Dylan's set, everyone was standing. Throughout those 6 songs, rows behind us and further back were yelling obscenities about us standing up to the point that it was escalating towards a fight.
This resulted in the ushers running around FORCING people to sit down or be ejected fromt he show. Now, I know this is a "seated" show, but that doesn't mean they can force you to sit rather than stand as far as I know. I'm sitting here thinking..Dylan is the man..he would say "F*ck the ushers!" and we paid for the seats.
This was just really interesting to me because I've NEVER seen a show where they forced you to stay seated. It just seems so f*cking rediculous.
