*EDIT* With the car...duh.

*Drastically edited for clarity*

In short...I ran into a guy from work who's selling a '96 Mustang GT. I had asked a friend of his yesterday if I might be able to test drive the 'stang w/o expressing interest in purchasing it..and he said yeah. Basically, they parked by me in a Publix parking lot..I got out, said hi, etc...after a minute, Rick gave me the keys & then went into Publix...ie letting me do whatever I wanted with his car. Hopefully that's concise enough.

I never went near redline (6k)..I think I barely touched 4 grand..so there's probably a LOT of pull that I didn't get to. It handled like a dream (from what I could tell, anyways)..and I loved the sound, and the seat fit me like a glove. Can't wait until I graduate college, then I'll finally be able to pick one up.

I couldn't believe when I was sitting inside & driving off..what are the chances that I'd run into these guys at a different store (all 3 of us work at a different store) at this time of night..I'm still in half-disbelief.

Orange isn't my favorite car color (black or silver..sigh)..but heck..I wouldn't be complaining

Then Rick told Steve that Rick had told CadetLee that he had asked Rick about Steve asking CadetLee if he was interested in Rick's Mustang that Steve had told CadetLee after Rick had told Steve about telling CadetLee

I don't know who the hell said American cars don't handle well.. I can whip my big ass Camaro around a turn no problemo. I can take a 25mph exit ramp at 70mph without any skidding. (The suspension and tires were upgraded, though. )

My Tbird even handled pretty damn well.

You get body roll in things like a Buick LeSabre (shudder.. my first car) or a Cadillac (shudder again.. my dad's car)..

I don't get it. You're in love with Rick?

Thats what I got out of it.

No I think Rick was cheating on Steven with the Orange Mustang and then he came and started dating the Mustang and Rick got really jealous and so Steven tried to get Rick back but Rick's heart was made for the car. And then they met at a 7-11 and bought slurpees

Y'know..out of all the other people I've told, the AT crowd doesn't seem to quite get it.

You used too many names going back and forth. Plus with a lack of female names I would never start a poast with the topic sentence, "I'm in love.."

similar car.. <-- I prefer black or silver..but whatever..

Was rick in the car?

.Rick pulls the keys from his pocket, hands them to me, then goes in Publix.

No. Just me...

Oh boy it was one of the special moments with the car eh!

how much was he asking, how many miles, and any problems?

the earlier 4.6s were on the slow side for a pony car, but I could go for one at the right price. The new ones are ok especially considering the dirt cheap financing you get these days, but I'm curious how the redesign will go.

Truth be told, I'd probably get an accord coupe over a mustang, but it's a nice car to consider. I'd get so reamed from insurance on a mustang GT anyways.
