The computer im on now is a Dell laptop with a 15" Ultra Sharp display and I havent had a single problem with it,but I recently saw a friend of mines LCD monitor and it looks really bad when playing games and I can see why so many people would recommend CRTs over LCDs for gaming.But I decided im going to order a 17" LCD screen for my new system,but I have no idea what to look for and I do not want to end up with a LCD like my friends.
These are some LCDs within my price range and I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me if these are any good or not.A website that explains what the statistics listed mean would be very helpful too.

The 17" equiventlent of mine I think
I would just get this one,but Im trying not to go too far over my budget.And I could live with a LCD not as "crisp" and "vivid" as this one I just can't live with ghosting and the darkness of my friend's lcd monitor.
Also it would be great if anyone has any other monitors in this price range they would recommend.
