Where i live in PA (about 20 miles southwest of harrisburg), we get minor power blips on occasion... sometimes more than others, but I think most of them have to do with wind and trees than it does with the humidity.
The humidity however is pretty bad here regardless of what Babbles said. The main thing that I can't stand is that the humidity is like the opposite of windchil... so it may only be 90 or so on the thermometer, but the humidity makes you break out in sweat within the first minute of walking out the door, and that almost makes me feel hotter... especially if there is no breeze.
The winters vary from 6' plus blizzards to almost no snowfall whatsoever. I can't remember the last time we had a white christmas here... but white easters are quite common.
Yuengling is good, maybe not the best beer in teh world, but when most people only know Bud or Miller, Yuengling tastes like pure ambrosia. it is all personal preference. Having worked in a hotel resteraunt with a liquor license (that is something too... not sure about where you are, but liquor is state controlled here. That means that if you want to buy a beer, bottle of wine, 10-gallon jug of vodka... you have to get it from a state store or a resteraunt with a liquor license) that serviced people from all over the country and from overseas, if they ordered yuengling, most of them commented that they liked it quite a bit and that it stood up well. I would hope that they had a decent recipe, they are the oldest brewery in the country...
The roads truly do blow, but slowly... ever so slowly, they are getting better. In fact there is a 5 mile patch of 81 that must have been repaved in the last 10 years at least!!!
I am not sure what standard Babbles is holding the food to... but generally, if you like a certain kind of food, you can find an excellent resteraunt that serves it. As far as the cheesesteaks go... i would almost be willing to say that there are two possiblities...
1: Babbles has only ever had 'fake' cheesesteaks and therefore does not know what a real one tastes like, however, if he enjoys his 'fake' cheesesteaks, then by all means he should continue to eat them.
2: They really did suck. I have never eaten there, but I have had some tasty cheesesteaks in Philly.
I am not sure how much they love taxes as to other places... I do know that Cumberland County just upped the OPT (Occupational Privilege Tax) from $10 to $52... so that would in fact qualify in my book as a little tax-loving. On the plus side, there is no tax on food, or clothing and the sales tax otherwise is only 6%. I can't remember what income tax is.
That is my 2 cents.. and a little more.
