I've never seen a coupon for "buy some other product and get free razors" much less a coupon that says flat out "come in to our store, grab a pack of razors, and leave without paying a dime."

That's the "Five Fingered Discount" coupon.

Gilette Fusion razors and Shick Quatro frequently issue high value manufacture's coupons.. I'm holding a stack of coupons here now for $4 off the price of each Fusion razor.

CVS recently had Fusion on sale for $7.99.. 1 handle-2 blades... they also had a deal where if you spent $15 on gilette fusion or vensus embrace you'd get back $5 in ECB.

2 razors= $15.98

use

$3/$15 Purchase-CVS coupon
2- $4.00 Fusion newspaper coupons

pay $4.98 in cash.. (or Extra care bucks from an earlier transaction) get back $5 in extra care bucks..

the limit for this particular deal was 5 transactions.. just rinising and repeating, pay ing for the after coupon total with the extra care bucks you got on the purchase before,

End result? 10 razors.. 2 blades per package all for the initial cash investment of $4.98.. which you end up getting back in extra care bucks on your last transaction.

Now that is some pretty neat coupon work there! Now that I can't take advantage of the 5-finger discount, this is a close second!

Might I suggest a nice inexpensive Merkur?

Also, if your at Wal Mart look for a shave oil called Shave Secret. It comes in a small eye dropper type of bottle so its easy to miss it. Frankly I dont like to use it to shave but I keep going back to it because it gives a goood shave! Its just a bit....gummy? Sticky? I dunno. Its some weird stuff but danmend if it doesnt work. Its still not the same as a good soap but when your in a bit of a hurry and dont want to go all out it works.

I picked a bottle of Shave Secret on a whim, and I must say, I have much less sever rash and burn using it. Maybe just a placebo, but the little bottle was relatively cheap and lasted ~6 months. I usually wet my face, put on some SS, then lather and shave. Afterwards, a few more drop of SS.

so screw you Gillette and your over prices replacement blades.

Or you could just store your razor, blade side down, partially submerged in rubbing Alcohol (91%) and you would only need to replace them 1/10th as often. But hey, what do I know.

Oh rly?

Yes, because it prevents rusting.
Rusting destroys blades.
Hair does not destroy blades.

The toughest thing about this is you have to keep filling up the alcohol every week or so. But it only costs a buck or two for a large supply, so, no big deal.

Also note my edit two posts up...

This works best if you start with fresh (or close to fresh) blades, as used blades probably will have rusted some already. But it should limit further rusting.

It also works best with 91% rubbing alcohol, instead of 70% (or whatever the standard is).

I downgraded back to the 2 blade razor (Mach 2?) due to the ridiculous prices on Mach 3 blades now. I hate to think what those 5 blade ones cost.

The normal price is, what, $10 for a fusion razor? How often does it go on sale for $8? Considering I go through 1 razor blade per week, it would have to be almost every month for this deal to be useful. Otherwise you end up paying $2 for 4 razor blades most months, which is still 2-4x the cost of a DE razor blade and not as good of a shave. Plus a LOT less work.

There are constant sales and promo's like this out for razors. I buy my newspaper insert coupons on ebay, when these sales happen I take full advantage and get many razors, sometimes the bonus packs are included in the sale..you'll get an extra blade or shave gel/body wash. I keep my husband and son in razors as well as several friends.

I like the Titanium - I can't remember what brand it is (Shick?) but I've been using the same razor for close to a year. Given, I don't grow a ton of hair on my face, but still...

Schick Titaniums and the Schick trimmers were a black friday deal at CVS and they were also
a hot item at Walgreen's, Schick frequently puts out internet printable coupons as well.

I use the fusion power. I can have a full beard in 48 hours if I don't shave. Those blades might cost more but they last months longer than the m3 power blades and do a MUCH better job.

Been using a DE for a couple years and will never go back. As others have mentioned, pick up a sampler pack from west coast shaving to find the blade right for you.

Don't get a shavette. If you want a close shave, get a DE. If you want to get a close shave and spend the extra time to hone/strop a razor and the sense of accomplishment that comes along with that, get a straight.
