I'm officially sick of minions.

Why the fuck do they need their own movie? It's bad enough that I have to sort through a dozen Facebook memes per day that have minions in them. Now they have a movie and I'm sure its just minions doing cutesy little things for 2 hours instead of having some sort of plot.

I wish I could do cgi because I would make video of 100 or so minions getting chopped in a blender and share it on Facebook.


I Don't know lol. I'm just tired of seeing them and really ready for this fad to die.

Universal is estimating that Minions, the 3-D prequel to their Despicable Me franchise is heading to an astonishing $120.9M opening weekend. The CG animated flick from Illumination Entertainment marched into 4,301 venues Friday, the most North American venues in Universal's history, and left with $46.2M for the day.

Thus Minions is now vying for the title of the biggest animated opening of all time

Whatever the marketing department or producers think will have a good shot at making money, they'll make. Quality doesn't necessarily equate to profitability.


For example, today I watched Transformers: Age of Extinction on Amazon. (Free with Prime, so what the hell, why not.)
I will never get those ~150 minutes back. God what a lousy movie. I also believe that there were only 48 seconds of screentime that weren't being used for product placement.

Yet it grossed over $1 billion globally.


Wiki says that Minions has already grossed >$180M above its budget.

I'm sure we'll be seeing Minions II.

I like the minions and the Minion movie. Though I don't have kids nor do I run across meems with them. I also watched the 9:15 showng and no kids Were there.

there is a skill you develop as a parent to be able to BLOCK out all sensory inputs outside of your kids. When watching certain things its a a necessity.
