This. Or an SC300. Currently 49 listings on Autotrader $6500 and under if you don't mind going a little older. Toyota's 3.0L V6 is bulletproof (same engine was also used in the Supra), and the rest of the car should hold up quite well also. Due to the shared engine with the MKIV Supra, you can mod the hell out of it as well, if you so desire. I don't know the gas mileage offhand though.

Are you looking for coupes? Sedans? What are you looking for exactly? You may get more useful suggestions if you give more details...

I would like a coupe, even a 2 seater. Convertible could be cool, but I'm not seeking one. I heard that road noise really sucks in convertibles, but I wouldn't know since I've never been in one at anything over 10 MPH, lol.

I've been reading a bit about the Mazda Miata online. I must admit, I do like the car quite a bit - even the old ones. I seem to find many GOOD things about Miatas. What are some bad things?

The worst thing about them is the sunburns. I did 8 hours in mine last year top down and sun screened everything I thought needed it. The next day it hurt like hell to brush the hair on the top of my head and I looked like I had major dandruff for a while lol.

The cars are pretty reliable and a blast to drive as long as you can put up with idiots calling it a chick car. Really the only time that comes up though is on car forums. I don't know when they fixed it but the first gen's, NA, are prone to lifter/hla noise. Its not really a big deal and shouldn't be a deal breaker. Mine has it pretty bad. Look for rust in the rocker panels.

Contradictory conditions. If your firmed up the suspension (urethane bushings, stuffer springs and dampers, shorter side wall tire) the road noise would get even worse.

Sounds like you are better off with a new car. If it was just one or two things you didn't like, like lack of power, you could do an engine swap or turbo or something and call it a day.

But you've listed so much stuff it would be impossible for you to be happy by using that car as a starting point without essentially building a whole new car from scratch that happened to look like a 2000 Accord.

^^^ with the amount the OP would spend modding his car, per your suggestions, he'd probably be better off buying a newer vehicle, IMO

not really.. many of those mods cost only a few hundred. the max he'd be spending would be 5k and u can do a lot w/ less than that.

buying a new car = $20-25k.

my suggestions = 5k, or 3k, or 1k, up to you mr OP

my cold air intake was $170, my projectors were 180, my HIDs were 80, detailing was 175, exhaust will be 500. much less than buying a new car and having tons of car payments

How does any of that fix the slow and boring?

my cold air intake by AEM gives 9hp at the wheels - affects the speed of the car & fuel efficiency
exhausts - along with other pipes give freer flow from the engine - resulting in more efficiency - giving more hp & better mileage.
projectors & hids - he complained about headlights being dim
detailing - he complained that his interior was hard to clean and probably dirty

i thought those were pretty obvious, u sure u know anything about cars?

I don't know about the newer Hondas but we've had too many to count... they are so fracken boring... not to be confused with fricken boring. I had to make that up in order to stay unpredictable, much unlike a Honda.

Man, you have some OBVIOUS troll post running around, but that's a whole other issue.

After all of those mods are done, I would imagine it would be hard to get the most out of the value for the vehicle should he decide to sell it. Very rarely can you get what you put into it.
A dealer won't give a damn about what you have done to it. They are gonna give you black book pricing regardless if it's stock or modded.

The average Joe or Jane looking for something to get them to A & B will look at the mods and instantly assume that it's been thrashed and will wind up being an issue. Whether or not that happens is a different matter all together, but they will assume. Without knowing the person nor the history of the vehicle, I would err on the side of caution and discount any vehicle that has lots of modifications.
The next person in line to buy it would be someone that doesn't have a lot of cash and is looking for something that already has got the VTEC YO! 100hp mods done. We all have a pretty good idea who looks for those vehicles and most low ball you and won't have the cash you are hoping for.

If the OP would like to get the most money for the vehicle, then sell or trade in (I hate trading in) AS IS. Clean it up a bit, get the required service done and then research what you want and look into it. GO test drive, make a firm decision and start the wheeling and dealing.

Stop talking about mods, that's a non-starter. Nobody with a clue or actual sense about life will be modding that 2000 Accord. You either put up with it or sell it, period. I had to lol when I saw some douche today in his subaru with a carbon fiber trunk (nothing else CF). I wonder how much money he pissed down the toilet on that silly thing. Mods are notoriously poor at giving extra power for money spent and notoriously awful when it comes to selling the car in regard to what money you'll get back. Nothing but thousands of dollars would make a boring car like this fun to drive.

HID retrofits are normally very expensive. they are around $1000 done right for my 07 accord

Shop around and a typical average retro would be something like 700-800. Mine is going to be done for 07 Accord on May 23

post some pics when you're done plz. looking forward to seeing it !
