I hope the samsung president reads this. This phone is just not for me. #1 This phone's build material glass is so fragile. I rarely took s7 out of case and now I have pretty deep scratch on back of s7 unbelievable! I only put s7 on hard surface for a short amount time to take sd card out. Samsung next time use more durable material like metal on HTC. #2 Touchwiz is once again sluggish full of bloatware. Sure touchwiz has improved but its still not quite great because its still sluggish, bloatware, and a memory resource hog. Also my charger cable has tear! Come on are you kidding samsung?! Please use better durable material in your products including charger cables accessories etc. So now I'm tired of s7 plus it is a pain in ass to root. I did not have much difficulty rooting my previous phone HTC One M8. Don't get me wrong. The Galaxy S7 is a great phone but not perfect and not for me. I'm switching to HTC 10. Quick question, How do you transfer or backup sms samsung app texts to another phone like HTC?

Opps, was gonna say SMS backup and restore, but I just saw Crono beat me to it.

And yeah, I think glass is a really dumb material for smartphones (other than the screen obviously) but people got rooked by marketing depts into thinking one of the most fragile materials possible is 'premium'. It's a good thing 'eggshells' or 'butterfly wings' didn't test well in marketing research.

The S7 Edge is literally the snappiest phone I've ever used. Haven't tried a pixel, but IMO it beats iPhones. I really don't care about root, because it brings nothing to the table for me. I'd lose Samsung Pay if I rooted, and that's something I use every day.

As for the glass, well, I've never scratched a glass phone, ever. I've had the Galaxy S6, Note 7 and now S7 Edge. I've seen metal phones get tons of scratches, and soft aluminum scratches very easily.

To each their own, I suppose.

Its not so much glass scratfhing, but shattering when dropped.Plus the slickness makes things prone to sliding off surfaces easier.

Anyway I agree, the S7 Edge is pretty damned nice. If Samsung would do the same thing in the US as they are in Korea, I'd probably just give in and get one. (Offering a half price discount on the Note 8 to former Note 7 owners who get an S7.)

The Pixel phones do nothing for me, in fact, Ive come to see Google's vanilla vison of Android as one big stinking negative. It's not just so-called bloat they've stripped out... but function as well. No extras like an S-pen and some of Samsung and others more useful features. No sd support. (Users might hurt themselves!) Toss in the boring pixel design missing feature parity with other flagships and basically google's vision is vanilla backwardness in my view.

You could try "package disabler pro (Samsung)" on the play store. It's meant to be able to remove most, maybe all, Samsung bloatware without root. Someone from another forum swore by it and so I thought it might be worth a look. It's a paid app. They say they will give a refund within 5 days if you are unsatisfied.

I kind of agree. I wasn't a fan of vanilla Android on my nexus 7 and ran a rom, and I wasn't a fan of it when I moved to the 6p from the note 4. It desperately needs a one handed mode which was very well done on TouchWiz. Nougat has helped with the quick settings that I missed for a while, but it's still behind in features.

I bought and returned the HTC 10 recently. Hopefully you will like it more than I did. Wasn't worth the $549 + tax.

My wife has an GS7 Edge + and my iPhone 6s + is definitely snapper and overall faster. We've done our own speeds tests and my iPhone comes out on top every time. I know the SD 820 has a better GPU, but since the res is 1440p, it's not noticeable. Still, the GS7 Edge + is still one of, if not the best Android phone out now for US carriers.

Previously I owned HTC One M8 I should be satisfied with HTC 10. This video proves metal is superior to glass.

I definitely liked the metal body with the HTC 10. I wish phones were either metal or plastic and never glass. The most delicate product in my house should not be my phone.

It wasn't a bad phone, but the things it lacked or the things it did in a way that I don't like was not worth it for me.

Perfectly fine phone for a lot of other people. They did a good job with it. But for me, the value wasn't there. At a cheaper price I would have kept it.

Love my HTC 10. Going from HTC M8 -> Xperia Z5 -> Nexus 6P -> HTC 10 -> Note 7 -> HTC 10. I have to say HTC is probably the best experience, up there with Nexus and Xperia. Samsung is absolutely dead last.
