I thought it was pretty much accepted by anybody sane that Hillary lost because of a combination of gerrymandering, Russian collusion by the Trump campaign and James Comey's "revelatory" letter.
Sounds like newsweek is busy making excuses for vilifying an old woman on behalf of Trump and the GOP.
You may want to rethink the definition of sane then. Clinton lost because not because of "gerrymandering", Russians, or Comey, but due to her lack of message, and failure to travel and campaign extensively like Trump. How did gerrymandering play any role in her loss? Did someone redraw the borders of the states? Maybe they counted the extra 7 states for Trump? If any gerrymandering occured, it would be on the side of the Dems because they have worked hard to import foreign nationals into the US with the idea that after becoming naturalized these new citizens will vote Dem.
