About a month ago, the computer in my signature below started having problems. The mouse and keyboard-- both USB-- would cut in and out; it got to the point where the computer became unusable.
I figured it was time to build a new one, so I put together an AM3 system that re-used the old PSU, GPU, monitor and mouse.
(Since all my USB devices were doing it, including another mouse I had when I plugged that in, I decided to keep the one mouse, which is a pretty new IE. 3.0.)
I also upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7.
After putting this new machine together-- the USB does the same thing.
Power supply-- right? Wrong. I ordered a new one of those, and it still does it.
Swapping USB mice has the same result-- both USB mice cut in and out. (I am currently using an old PS2 keyboard that has had no issues.)
So: the only components left over from my original computer is the GPU and the monitor (and the mouse, of course)-- and the problem persists.
Is there any way that either one of these is the source? Could the GPU be causing this? Could the monitor be giving off RF interference or something?
Anyone experienced anything like this?
