people shouldn't be allowed to take shits in public bathrooms. seriously, someone took a shit on the wall/on top of the reservoir at the gym 2 weeks ago. it definitely would have ranked at least an 8 on ratemypoo. i don't think i'll ever be able to piss on that seat again. holy crap it smelled bad. fresh air ftw.

Dude, I think you posted in the wrong thread.

And, that's fucking gross!!!!!

Pretty scary where we have a thread where that post is appropriate

That's a great point, but when you consider the health of the children and how damaging second-hand smoke can be to them, the argument falls apart. Kids under 5 can especially damage their lungs at that developmental stage and shouldn't be around that kind of smoke when they're drinking.

yeah we really should think about the children under 5 who are regular patrons of BARS. It's really unfair to them be around smoking and not have a choice about it.

all you smokers who aren't thinking about the 5 year olds in the bars are selfish bastards!

haha great post Scarpozzi

Did you click on the links I posted? When health concerns are raised about second hand smoke, the demand for anti-smoking bars will rise at the same rate as a demand for a ban. The difference is that we aren't forcing everything to be one way and everyone gets to choose where they work or patron. Why is choice such an awful thing? Nobody is forcing anyone and as long as that is the case there is NO ARGUMENT. Period.

Do you understand what the word "freedom" means? Your way means everything has to go your way or else. The "free" way would allow choice for anyone. The choice to patron anti-smoking or smoking bars. The choice to open up a bar that allows either. The freedom to have ANY bar smoke-free doesn't make sense. You are alienating other people's freedom, which means it's not free at all.

Oh someone think of the children. I often see innocent toddlers and impressionable children frolicking in the sandboxes and swingsets at all the bars I frequent.

Hey, nothing makes my nephew happier after a long day at school than grabbing a cold brewski and a shot of Maker's at the pub. His tiny lungs can't handle the sheer amount of smoke in those establishments, so after we leave, we make sure that he only smokes half a pack the rest of the evening. He pisses and moans, but a quick hit from the bong usually calms him down.

I'm pretty sure he was referring to businesses in general, restaurants probably being one of the big ones where children can be subjected to second hand smoke.

I'm sorry, look at the sub-title of the thread.
Seems like half the bars in this town allow smoking

Even in restaurants, it should be a business decision. Put a sign saying smoking is allowed, let patrons decide to eat at places where smoking is prohibited.

If you bothered reading the thread, you would have realized that it has turned into a discussion about businesses in general (bars, restaurants, bowling alleys, etc.).

I'm a smoker and I support this law. It's not a matter of the owner's choice, because it's a health hazard, not only to non-smoking (and smoking) customers, but it's a health hazard for the employees. A person should NOT have to make the choice between a job and their health. I know many people here think that since no one is holding a gun to their heads, they could always quit and work somewhere else, but why should they have to?

Health and safety laws exist to protect the workers, not to penalize the owner or customers of those businesses.
