checkout is secure.. do a properties on the checkout frame and you will see its SSL 3.0, RC4 with 128 bit encryption (High); RSA with 1024 bit exchange

Sounds expensive for a machine with a small screen, small HD, and small amount of memory. 700MHz sounds slow too, but I don't know Mac so maybe it's equivelent to a 2.4GHz P4, I have no idea.

Also, that's only 10% off, does 10% make it "cheap"?

Definitely not 2.4gig, but a direct comparison is apples to oranges. Rule of thumb maybe just under 2x in comparison--prolly close to 1.3GHz in raw speed, but makes up for a little of that shortcoming with the SW/hardware integration and "ease of use". I use both PCs and Macs, each has their place and their strengths and weaknesses.

MacSolutions has been around a long time. A bad site does not make the people sketchy. Just as a good sight does not make people legit.

For an Apple 10% is cheap. Apple's are tightly price controled.

I use Apple and PC so don't start flaming me.

I prefer Apple and know a great deal more about them. You guys comparing them to a top of the line 2.4 Ghz Pentium should try comparing them to what they compete against entry level machines. The iMac is the weakest Macintosh made excepting its laptop counterpart the iBook. Apple users aren't really worried about the comparison. That is what PC people do. Apple people like to sit down work and not fix their computer. I do an eighth the maintenance on my Mac as I do on my PC running Windows. Each has its own set of jobs and performs them admirably. In particular, the Macintosh is still poor for surfing the Internet. The browsers are slow because of the underlying code. The Macintosh does all the real work. Graphics and Design (I am a designer) and the PC does Internet and a few other tasks. Overall I thnk everyone making fun of Mac people should chill and Mac Zealots should be a little less hyper trying to convert the Windows people.

The real reason behind the 2.4 ghz p4 comparison is because a computer with that cpu is way cheaper than this mac. Not to mention the fact that a 2.4 ghz pre-built Dell is so cheap that it can be considered a entry level machine. I mean, when you can get it for less than $600 at times, you can't really complain. The top of the line PC systems are almost the same as the entry level ones in terms of preformance. Only the people who don't know how to research for a new comp go out and spend over a grand on a sub 2 ghz system (or if you prefer AMD then a sub 1600+ system which is about as powerful as a 2ghz p4 ;-) )

The biggest problem with macs is that their top of the line systems cost so freaken much money. I have no problems with macs (though I am a pc only user as I have a budget) but I am annoyed that they charge so much for their machines. On the plus side, this does sound like a decent deal, especially because it is a G4 and not a G3 cpu. I would say go for it if you had the money.

im more of a pc person then a apple/mac person. but like Creektech said "each has their place and their strengths and weaknesses" the one thing that i did notice about apple/mac computers is that, they produce A LOT of heat. it was hotter than death valley at high noon. other than that, i like their designs. i honestly wouldnt mind the 22in Apple cinema lcd monitor!!! those are nice prices being how much they go for at regular price. NICE FIND!! THANKS!!!!!!
