This monitor is definately the best for the money if you are a gamer. It has all of the options of the more expensive models and seems to be a quality display. The monitor does not have any dead pixels. It is so great, I may purchase another one for a dual monitor setup.

Got it in the mail today and due to having to study for a physics test in the morning i just hooked it up. NO dead pixles, And i just played CS Source for about an hour and no ghosting what so ever. I have no backlight issues either. Oddly i seem to be doing a lot better in counterstrike with this monitor was not expecting that lol. I was a little worried about buying this monitor before there was feedback but i am 100% satisfied, actually it is better than expected.

Earth to Nessism, come in.

I have tried your Java Jtrack test on both a 17" CRT and the LD90+. I don't see a whole lot of difference. There are no "tails" that I can see. I do see maybe a slight very slight blurr with fast movement. If I go real fast, I can see sveral stationary verticles and they seem sharp. It is hard to tell because it is so much birghter that the 17" CRT. I am tired though.

My only bitch is I have one stuck red pixel off center to the right and about 1" down from the top. It sticks out like a sore thumb on a default blue background, like Win2000 and ProMepis. Its also seen on the black NASA test easily. I can't see it at all on this screen. I tired to massage it with a q-tip gently no difference. I didn't realize how soft the screens are.

Sombody asked about the DVI cable length, must be ~ 6feet. I just stretched out the analog and it is 6ft.

I ran across this LCD yesterday perusing the web... it appears there is a L90D model (25ms) and a L90D+ model. My question is: does the L90D+ model actually have 8ms Response time? Is this Tr+Tf (rise & fall).. or are they just stating the Tf response? Seems strange a 19" could kick ass in Response Time, Contrast, and Analog and DVI inputs, 3yr warranty, AND BE $150 less than the nearest competitive model? Really 8ms?

its not 8ms all the time, thats just the best case scenario as far as i know, but I got mine today and I have been blown away, much better than expected, no ghosting. I did the nasa thing with the satellites and I can barely tell the difference between the hyundai and my trinitron. Honestly the crt is a litte faster, but the difference is so minimal that you really have to be trying hard to see it.

Thanks for testing the Hyundia

I bought a Dell 1905FP and while I like it, it does ghost quite a bit. The 1905 Anandtech review really misses the boat regarding ghosting in my opinion.

So now I'm trying to decide if I should bite the bullet and get one of these. Price is right although I really have no need for two $400 monitors

I use a Dell 1800FP which I'm very pleased with, but I am building a system for a friend, and I picked up a Dell 1905FP for $420 after tax and shipping 2 weeks ago. I was wondering if I should return that LCD for him and get him this ImageQuest. He is not a gamer, so I'm supposing the Dell would be better for text and colors, it just suffers more ghosting than this Hyundai panel, right?

I'm the same way...always waiting for prices to drop...well you know what...the price on this panel just went up..it was $379 free shipping just a few days ago...now it's $389 + $12 shipping. Chiefvalue had it yesterday for $365...

If you have the $ now...buy it...computer parts ALWAYS will go down...you'll be waiting forever...enjoy it now if you can...

I love mine..no dead pixels...no ghosting...dvi...and it looks nice too...

If your friend does not game, I'd stick to the Dell. It uses a PVA LCD panel which has wider viewing angles and slightly better color depth (in theory anyway). Text sharpness should be the same.

And damn, $420 is a fair bit cheaper than the $462 I paid for my Dell

DAMN, now it is $410 + $12 shipping at the Egg.

Maybe I better ignore that 1 stuck red pixel, it was $379 with free shipping when I got it.

Any ideas of how to "unstick" ONE red pixel? Why couldn't it just be dead!! Arrrrg.

Possible solution: change the wallpaper to somthing light colored or a different color it will hide it since it doesn't seem to show in any apps with lighter backgrounds, like this web page. Maybe PINK wallpaper, ooooh.

Thank God I got it yesterday at Chiefvalue for 365 + tax... and free shipping, total to be 399.xx close to 400. I hope it's what it hyped up to be. I'm still using my old Hyundai CRT (DeluxScan P990, not even flat) I got back in early 2000, and it was manufactured in September 1999. If this LCD has the same mileage of my CRT it will be pretty freakin awsome. Overall, Hyundai monitors seem to be very reliable

i just ordered mine 5 mins ago off chieftech. and i was just looking at it last night for 365, dangit. went ahead and paid the 379 today, no tax though luckily. hopefully it will be all i hoped for and more. we're in the exact same situation. i've also got a P990 trinitron, not even flat screen, badged by DELL though but the same monitor. have had this monitor for a good while now. it's about time for an upgrade.

Hyundai Imageqest L90D+ review!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guys, I am here to write what I think about the new Imagequest from Hyundai. Let me first start off by saying WOW!!!! HOLY POO ON A STICK!! Ok, now that thats out of me, I will let u know all of the things about this monitor. Upon recieveing the box, from newegg of course (god I love the EGG), I noticed how LIGHT this thing is. I am really really suprised Fedex didn't damage it, because it wasn't in another box, it was just shipped in its own box, which I thought was kinda odd. Well heres a pic of the box:
Pic of the box

So, of course, I dig right it, and notice how it all is packaged VERY VERY well, as you can see here:
packaging

I really like the fact that this came with the DVI cable, VGA cable, and power cable. Also came with a cd, the manual and what not.
contents

Now I couldnt wait to compare this badboy, because this was my FIRST lcd screen, and after being a die hard CRT guy, I am glad I made the switch. I currently have the NEC FE771sb 17" flat screen CRT, which IMO was the best monitor I had ever used, so comparing to this LCD was honestly looked over time and time again for me. Anywhoo what I found was a MUCH crisper look of things, just right off the bat. Of course it would be though right, I mean, with my ATI X800 pro 256, the DVI is supposed to have a cleaner look to it, and so it did. Here are the two monitors compared (althought in the pics the quality is STILL nothing like seeing it for uself!
monitors compared
no flash

Now was the ultimate test. What would it look like at 1280 x 1024 in HL2. Well, I nearly %^&% it my pants when I saw the color detail. As for ghosting, WOW, not even the slightest hint of it. I am much happier now that I can see all colors, details are so much clearer, and now I can really SEE and FEEL the game as it was ment to be played.
pic of HL2 - detail is still nothing compared to seeing it for urself!

All in all, let me say I am far from pleased, its way beyond it. I have found a new love, and her name is L90D+, shes got plenty of features, and her looks are ones that kill. I do have ONE problem, I did have 1 dead pixel, which only shows when there is a black screen, and the pixel turns BLUE, not sure if this is fixable, but its in the very very bottom of the screen, almost out of view I suppose, but 1 dead pixel suits me just fine, but if you know how I can fix this, I will be even happier.

I would really suggest getting this monitor, I got mine from newegg for $379 and shipped free. This morning, as I was checking tracking info, I went to newegg and looked it up, it was $389 plus $12 shipping. Not but an hour later, after recieving it, I was showing some friends the link, and I noticed it was $410 and $12 shipping, the link is found here http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProdu...-179-014&depa=0 . I hope the rest of you who made this purchase are as happy as I am, I will enjoy every second of this LCD screen!

Received mine yesterday. I was worried about the 6 bit color and dithering. Why? I don't know. This monitor blows away my 8 bit Viewsonic in color, brightness and sharpness. This is the best LCD I have ever seen in person. Maybe I'm biased because I bought one, but the picture is beautiful and there is absolutely no ghosting in FPS games.
0 dead pixels, very nice, sturdy construction, DVI, 8 ms, etc. What's not to like?
It is $410 plus $12 shipping at NewEgg now and they are out of stock until the 15th. I was very fortunate to get one for $379 +free shipping, but I think it is still a steal.
I was all set to get the Viewsonic VP171 until this one came along and I was apprehensive about the Hyundai name. I chose wisely! It really is a Samsung, if it matters.

Haha, glad we're alike I just realized that I should have just ordered it to my parent's place at vegas, since there wouldn't be any shipping. Since this is my 1st LCD, I was wondering if dead pixels are common amongst new LCD monitors. Chiefvalue called me today and told me that they're also only accepting exchanges with 8+ dead pixels, and that they're actually not affiliated with Newegg contrary to the common belief. They seem to be a very nice store though, at least they called the person who purchase the item before sending it out Hope everyone here get a flawless monitor

yea i don't think it's common to have dead pixels. anyway, if there are some u can go through hyundai to get it fixed i think. and 8 or more they handle it. they are really fast with shipping too.

this is insane how popular this monitor got over the past couple of days. a week ago it was 365 on new egg wit free shipping. then jumped to 389 with 12 shipping. now 410 with 12 shipping? what the heckkk?? and chiefvalue, 365 to 379? still the best value there and free shipping too. but now, they're sold out at both places? it's crazy.

this is THE monitor to get. i can't wait til i get mine next week. i'll be glued to the comp when i should be studying organic chemistry.

BRAND NEW LCD

Looks like balance is gonna be uneven here, I have been glued to the glowing eye candy machine all day, testing it out. I have a question, since newegg claims it has a 3 yr warranty, what exactly does the warranty cover?

Pulled the trigger.. just ordered this bad-boy from xPCGear.com... hopefully I won't get burned. This is the last outlet I could find w/ stock. $369 + $8.70 shipping! NewEgg and ChiefValue keep bumping up price every few hours! Good luck to all w/ the L90D+ I'll post a review as soon as LCD arrives. I have a feeling once word is more widespread on this 8ms screamer, you won't be able to snag it for under $400.. to many rich features and compares to $500 LCDs http://www.xpcgear.com/hyundail90d.html

Umm...take a look at Hyundai's quality of ownership and reliability records dude, I think maybe then you would want to take back your dig at their cars.

dude, i think it's interesting you took that as a negative comment

that's Mr Dude to you

So anyways, been using it for over a week now, and really the only complaint I have is the view angle. Otherwise I love it. Also love the new headphone jack with volume control thats built in .
