Eh, that really depends. First, that appears to be a Ford, which means that it's most likely FWD. Also, keep in mind that most cars have the underbody plating stuff that helps protect the delicate bits from being hit by crap on the road. That would possibly help protect the car in this case. Essentially, he's probably lucky that he hit the car directly in the middle. At worst, he might have to replace a damaged oil pan.

EDIT:

This also appears to have occurred at a fairly low speed, which is why he just sort of stopped versus flipping over like you'd see in some crazy movie stunt. Although, what that says to me is that the driver really wasn't paying attention, because he should have been able to stop in time at that speed. You could see him put on the brakes, but only a few feet before the guardrail.

There has been construction near me lately, bring a 2 lane road (traffic flowing in opposite directions) down to 1. Cars have to wait their turn yo go through while a pilot car guides traffic from one end to the other. So basically one side gets piloted through while the cars heading in the other direction have to wait. Three times I've seen a car in the waiting line try to pass and drive head on into oncoming traffic. Yes, people are *that* dumb.

Yeah, I know it's generally unproductive to attribute motivation to the actions of strangers, since that really only ends up pissing you off further, but anytime I see something like in the OP, my go-to assumption is that the person's an inconsiderate jerkoff.

I had a similar incident occur to me (asshole driver was behind me), but she ended up rear ending a breaking Semi (at slow speed). The satisfaction felt, was intense.
