The Republican children have a list of 301 witnesses so far. I'm sure they've included the cafeteria workers from the capitol on the list.

I love how the fucking GOP keep changing their story and somehow still believe themselves to be both the heroes and the victims of this story.
First it wasnt happeneing.
Then it was happening but it wasnt violent.
Then it was violent but it was the cops fault.
Then it wasnt the cops fault it was ANTIFAS fault.
Then they admit its Donalds fault but they arent going to do anything.

They admit he caused it. the only part they dont accept it holding him accountable.

This is exactly like the coronavirus and every other god damn thing since Donald first announced he was running for president.

They are making a mistake if they think getting Pelosi on the stand is going to get them anywhere. They will regret it.

Who would you call as witnesses? Trump's kids? They were with him on the day, they could speak to his state of mind. Or what about his Secret Service detail?

EDIT: Definitely Rudy.

Hillary. I gauranfuckingtee that GQP Quislings will want to parade Hillary in front of Congress for some bullshit reason. They'll want to talk about Bengazi for days, as if it is somehow relevant. Just watch.

See the projectionists (Republican Senators), are seeing themselves and their motivation for Benghazi and assume that this is just like their show trials.

the only reason for getting his family to testify is so you can nail them later for lying, cuz you KNOW they would definitely lie. And thats why they will never be allowed to testify. Their lawyers understand how the system can be gamed.

"Republican senators insist that no minds will be changed if witnesses are deposed because they are resting on their procedural argument that there shouldn’t be a trial in the first place for a former President. "

This argument has already been to rest. It was voted constitutional by the Senate. The fact that this is their reasoning to let Trump off shows they do not honor their oath, the constitution, our founding father's, or the very governing body that they are a part of. They are supposed to base their decision on the evidence. They are a disgrace to this country.

I think this may be for the sole purpose of making Trump unpalatable to the GOP. Hang him and his actions around the neck of everyone who trotts him out (Graham, McCarthy). Lee them explain why they still support a man who didn't care to even help them when they were in real danger. I think that is truly why the Republicans fear these witnesses.

If they’re gonna call witnesses, pull the fucking pin and call Trump. Send him a big fat subpoena. They can subpoena him. He can take the 5th, if he wants, but that will be a pretty strong indication of guilt. Although this could lead to bogging down the trial, because most likely he will defy/contest or ignore it. He will still have to sit in that chair to plead the 5th…a chair with a microphone in front of it. Either way, if they even utter the words “The Big Lie” he wouldn't have the discipline not to go off on a free form jazz riff on how he really won in a landslide. Although this pretty much fantasy where Trump is called to the Senate to face a grilling where he pulls a Jack Nicholson under pressure, thereby causing previously reluctant GOP senators to vote to convict. I suspect anyone holding onto this thread of hope is going to be sorely disappointed.

But, I just want to see him plead the 5th in front of Congress and millions of viewers worldwide.

Call Herrera, and if her testimony is compelling and strong .. she leaves no room for McCarthy to do anything aside from say she’s telling the truth or she’s lying, then maybe call McCarthy and dare him to lie on the stand.

Put Tuberville up there too - to A) get the truth out of him or allow him to perjure himself and B) watch him squirm as he most certainly doesn’t even know what's going on around him. In general. He’s pretty much a dope.

You need 51 votes to call a witness, good fucking luck with that one

good point, but do you expect her to appear on their witness lists, at least the craziest sociopaths like Hawley and Gym pederast Jordan, Cruz? Lindsay, probably, because he made his bones skewering the Clintons. ....literally the only thing he's contributed to the GQP and the people that vote for him in SC.

As I said earlier, McConnell needs to be impeached himself, as he is the one who postponed the trial till after Trump left office by stating he would not call the Senate back without 100% agreement. Which is why Nancy did not send the articles to the Senate. He admitted today that he is going to acquit Trump on grounds that it is unconstitutional. And he put it in a letter..

Lol ... A bunch of naive, idiot talking heads said on January 6th, “Mitch McConnell may be partisan, but he cares about the institution of Congress and he cares about the Constitution, and he is acting like a statesman now.”

Mitch wrote that letter in an attempt to forestall the witness vote, which makes him a two-time loser in about a 12-hour period.

The word on the street is that they will get the representative from Washington who spoke to McCarthy to give a written deposition where it will be entered into record after which they will have the vote or closing arguments.

I'm not sure. Pelosi is a bit of a disaster when it comes to public speaking and conveying simple, concise ideas and issues to people. She really is the "elitist" stereotype that so many GQPers despise. She's absolutely not a shark when it comes to public speaking (her age doesn't help). GQP is only going to call people and toss non sequitor after non sequitor after them--just to create an image of "incompetence" that is not related to the case. Look at what they did with and interpreted Mueller's appearance in front of Congress 2 years ago (also, age another factor with sitting Mueller down all day long).

They will create the exact image and narrative (pure nonsense bullshit that their supporters will eat up like the discarded fetus tissue that is their sustenance) that they want with Pelosi on a witness stand. It's why I mentioned Hillary earlier--they want to blame a Dem for being "too incompetent" to defend their building from terrorists. Nancy will say nothing incriminating whatsoever, from any actual legal perspective, but the GQPers will believe it to their dying days. They really are the dumbest fucking humans to have ever lived. It's a requirement for casting a republican vote.

He wrote it because the political calculations are over and he wants to make it very clear to the rest of the Republicans out there. The party leadership is bound and determined that Trump IS the Republican Party, now and forever. So their members better tow the line in support of it. THAT is the meaning of the letter.

Yeah, I think they are going to keep pushing for Trump now. They have to. Delay until he can't run away. Brooks and Boebert and Greene and all those others that organized and spoke for those terrorist rallies leading up to the republican assault against the USA--all elected officials with documented involvement in the attack against the country will need to take the stand.

Was proud of the Dems for once. I would lose all respect if they did this again.
