So, Lindsay Grahm says if if the Dems want to call witnesses it will cause the GOP to call the FBI as a witness, where he expects they will testify that the riot and takeover was organized well in advance of Trump's speech. My personal belief has always been that people are responsible for their own actions. It's on those who did it to pay the price, and I believe they should all be prosecuted to the maximum extent of the law. Trump is being blamed because he can be and that is how politics works, especially for a man who is hated as much as the Democrats hate him. My prediction is he will be acquitted. There aren't enough votes to convict. He is in no way out of the woods, as I'm sure there are many other legal problems down the pike.

If the FBI knew this was going to happen then why didn't they stop it or notify the appropriate authorities to stop or prepare for it? Or did they notify them and nothing was done to prevent or prepare for it? I hope Graham cracker, aka "The Cracken", calls the FBI to testify. Lindsey is a little prick.

Call his bluff, I guarantee you that its not going to work out like he thinks (meaning, it'll just show how thoroughly this was planned and that it absolutely was intended to be what it turned out to be if not worse, and that Turmp's speech was just part of it; does he really think people think it only happened just because of that one speech? Everyone already knows those dipshits would not have even been there were it not for a litany of other pre-planning).

If anything it'll probably just reveal and highlight other right wingers' (like a sitting Supreme Court Justice's wife, members of Congress, etc) roles in the entirety of it, making them accomplices and showing they knew full well exactly what the intent was and were tacitly approving of it.

Eh, for once I actually agree with woolfe and he even said he wasn't trying to be a pedant to be a dick. It is actually somewhat important simply because it objectively shows how ridiculous Turmp's Presidency was. And I've seen lots of right wing douchebros that claim they're Republican because of objective rationality (which is absurd to anyone with a functioning brain).
I was just trying to be semi-funny with my post. Guess it wasn't.
ie. ton=2,000 (lbs) (lies)
15 shit tons is 30K lies
Nothing wrong with him making sure the numbers are accurate.
Accuracy is always paramount.

Subpoena stat, I hope
The request for testimony letter to Trump's lawyers made a statement that Trump not testifying would be viewed negatively (paraphrased). I don't think they expected him to testify, and will not waste time (is just another Trump tactic) with a subpoena.
I assume the Trump Death Cult party will not vote for impeachment.

Why should Trump testify? He would just lie then rant on about fraudulent elections and ballot drops in the middle of the night. And who's going to hold Trump accountable for perjury? Republican will call it freedom of speech, label his lies under oath as "only his opinion". Not a lie, not perjury, but only an opinion which they would claim as hardly criminal. The less we have to do with Donald Trump the better. The less we have the republicans involved, the better. Democrats need to force their agenda with the stimulus, then climate change and immigration and F... the republicans. Remember.... no matter how badly the republicans squeal about democrats forcing the Biden agenda, none of that comes close to the outrage republicans and Mitch McConnell pulled with denying then president Obama his US Supreme Court justice.

This is easy. Schedule his testimony for 8-8:30pm or so (PRIME TIME) and frankly remind him that he will have the biggest ratings ever. (and they will definitely be huge).

The fucking shitclown would be unable to hold himself back.

Why are the Impeachment managers so reluctant to subpoena Trump? I keep reading it’s extremely unlikely to happen.

It's supposedly just a tactic. Of course Trump won't testify, nor would his lawyers let him. But since he refused, they can say he had the chance to defend himself and refused. It's also about Trump's state of mind and his intentions. If he refuses to speak about what he was thinking, how can he deny what the prosecutors put forth as his intentions to incite? That will leave it up to the evidence presented, which will be very convincing that he did in fact foment the riot. And he won't be there to say "that's not what I intended to happen at all" because he's a fucking liar and too dangerous to do anything but incriminate himself. And his lawyers can't testify to what he was thinking or what his intentions were since they aren't him.

IMHO basically he's just going to be aquitted after his lawyers argue procedure as they know he's guilty. This is all a formality at this point, just like the first time. Any hope to nail Trump is either through one of his other lawsuits, or a diet Coke/McDonald's induced heart attack.

Sure, he’s going to be acquitted. The thing is we already nailed him - he lost, and there’s a decent chance he’s going to be indicted.

If the Democrats wanted to they could force him to testify of course and there’s nothing he could do to prevent it. (Well, I guess he could sit in prison) I doubt they are interested in wasting the time necessary to do so.

This is so sad. If the Trumplicans weren't intoxicated on kool-aid, this impeachment trial would be a slam dunk. Unfortuantely, they are intoxicated on the Kool-Aid.
Yeah sad the excuse the GOP Senators use to avoid convicting. Last time the voters will decide. Now he's no longer president. What's wrong with holding a truly incompetent and corrupt individual responsible? And why can't the Congress hold these Senators responsible for their inactions?

Trump on the stand is a defense attorney's worst fear. They probably have nightmares about it.

Trump would love to do it and would think of himself as a guest star on Law & Order. My guess is he would contradict himself within 2 minutes and commit perjury in less than 5.
After about 5 minutes into his list of grievances.........
