Well, here is my story. I'm 22... live at home with mom and dad. I have two semesters left. I've enjoyed myself going out with lots of friends and doing lots of things, met a great (using term loosely) girlfriend and have had nice $$$ flow because of no rent or anything and being able to work/go to school/manage social life all at once. I'm glad I decided to stay home and do this, but it's not for everyone. My girlfriend went away her first year and said that the carefree fun of it all is something everyone should get to enjoy, but she doesn't miss or regret it. I'm in the same boat. I've got friends away at school who have a blast, but also have friends who have just as much fun going to local schools here and living on their own or with parents. It really wouldn't have been a big deal to me either way.

unless you are majoring in a marine or aquatic major, I would forgo UNCW. Basically, all of my class that could not get into a major university...including the mighty East Carolina got accepted at UNCW.

What will you be majoring in?

Living at home and going to college is a no no as well.

I pick c None of the above

Seriously? I was under the impression that UNCW was harder to get into than ECU. Anyway...

UNCW? UNCC is a good school too though...

about 3 or 4 years ago UNCW was very easy to get into as a freshman, now UNCW is the hardest school to get into in north Carolina, because the can only accept something in the neighbor hood of 20% of the incomming applications, because of space

I'm an old fart, high school class of 92. The SAT scores of the 3 people I know that got into UNCW were between 800-900. They went primarily to party and hit the beach, if an education happened in the meantime, oh well...

No offense to anyone that did graduate from there, this was just my experience almost 13 years ago.

edit - state schools only

Whoa...hardest school to get into? Uh...UNCA, UNC-CH, and NCSU are all more difficult.

Yeah i heard plenty of stoies, and grades of people that went there. Here is what they want for you to get in now.

1200 or better SAT
2.2 gpa for transfer, >3.0 for freshman

you in charlotte? or outside (concord, kannapolis, etc..)?

If you just want to enjoy life, go to UNCW, if you already have a low rent place to stay in or around charlotte do UNCC. either way, it's only a few years.
