My LEAST favourite is the fact that the months have horribly differing numbers of total days in them. Supposedly because past Roman emperors "stole" days from particular months (like February!), so that they could have their own months named after them.

It's because of the way we say dates; March 15th, 2008, rather than 15, March 2008. The former simply sounds better.

Actually, biggest to smallest makes the most sense.

Whenever I date a file on a computer, I do 2014-04-17 because it's easier to sort.

In speech or in text, 4/17/2014 because America is better than Europe in every way. Including the Imperial system. Yes, I said it.
