My SX830 order was cancelled also. BUT I checked the availability of the case on their website and it says that they have 609 in stock. I made a printout of this screen and am going to use it when I file my complaint with the BBB. I'm going to check with the California Department of Consumer Affairs to see if they have violated any state laws (I'm assuming that since they charged me sales tax in CA then they have a point-of-presence in the state. My understanding is that once they have charged our credit cards, we have completed a legally binding contract.

Some may say that we lost out on a hot deal and should move on. But we could have price matched them at Staples and even gotten it for less with coupon if I had been able to cancel my order. However, they were not answering their phones or email, so cancellation wasn't possible.

Ordered an Antec Plus660B and was charged for it (of course). Now cancelled. Better give me my money back fast!

I haven't received any cancellation email yet, but I elected to pay by personal check. I ordered an Antec SX830 and a Samsung 955DF for a friend who I'm building a machine for. He's gonna be pretty fscking pissed when he finds out that they pulled this sh!t. The only hope is that they'll still ship it when I call up and ask them to change my method of payment...who knows :disgust:

Their overall rating would be alot LOWER if we all rate their PRICING as mediocre and highly expensive. Previous ratings of low pricing kept their overall ratings at 4+. Otherwise, it'd be in the 2's by now

If you got the email leave them some feedback, this is very poor buisness pratice and others should know about it.

ordered and received confirmation on the 27th, charged on the 30th. cancelled on the 4th.

I better get my money back. :|

Placed an order with EMS on 7/25/02 for a Canon Printer. Credit card charged right away. Been getting same emails as everyone else. The email sent today I received 8 hours ago and checked their site and my order still shows with no tracking number. As the email said the order will be canceled, and in the UNLIKELY EVENT your credit card was charged, a refund to credit card in 3 to 5 business days. They were quick to take our money violating their own policy of not charging until shipped. Now they want 3 to 5 business days for a refund. I'm not in any way convinced that their not going out of business. My credit card company is sending papers to fill out on their charge. Bottom line is I'd be happy to see a refund on my credit card and chalk this up as another lesson learned.

Just got the same email
seems like everybody who paid with a cc was charged. Even though in their cancelation email it states "As a result, we have cancelled your order.
In the unlikely event your credit card was charged, a full refund will be
posted to your account within 3-5 business days."

Why are they charging people before the item is even shipped?
This is BS!!

Ordered on the 29th and cancelled on the 4th. Bye-Bye EMS Computing. If you weren't going out of business before, you will be now (4.08 and going DOWN)

Well i ordered the Antec SX630ii from them on 7/29. Got the same email as the rest of you. I'm definitely not buying anything from them again...

IIRC, a corporation is not permitted to charge your card until the order has shipped..was I misinformed? Maybe they'll give me a runaround, maybe it'll let them know that some people actually care about service...who knows. It's worth a shot, anyways.

CadetLee, IIRC, I think you are correct a company cannot charge you unless they have the inventory are the item is ready to ship. Maybe people who were "screwed" by this "deal" can contact the CC company and find out if this is fraud I'm not knocking EMS, I have never dealt w/ them, but if this happened to me, that's what I would do.

Damn, their Reseller Rating is dropping faster than the DOW did after the announcement of the WorldCom problems.

On a serious note, some of the threads pointed out that this company could be heading for some kind of financial trouble. If this were the case, you're better off living with a cancelled order (and getting your money refunded) rather than watching them file for bankruptcy protection and never seeing your money (or the product you ordered) ever again.

I didn't get the cancelation e-mail and my order still shows up in my ems account. Maybe my cancel e-mail will come tomorrow?

It sucks.
