Impromptu Madson, WI ATOT Meet!

I'm on my way to Madison for a conference. We decided to fly through MKE to save like $400 per ticket. But of course Delta had to go and lose our bags and those of about 8 other people on the same flight.

So, here I am waiting for the next flight from ATL to arrive in case the bags were sent on that plane. I've got a good 90 minutes to wait. At least the aiport has WiFi!

UPDATE: For a whopping $30/day, I just got ourselves a 2006 Infiniti G35 Sedan as our rental! $17.95/day rents you a Chevy Cobalt.



UPDATE: Woohoo! Our bags just made it on the next DL flight! We're off to Madison!

I fly about 30-40 times a year, and I'd say at least 60% of the time I'm having to wait at least an hour for some reason. I'll wait up to ~3 hours before I start to get pissed, but I'd had to wait as long as 14.

Doesn't seem like you'd have time, but certainly a worthwhile option. Might as well make the best of it

I usually just find a nice place to grab a beer or a glass of wine and read my book. I try as hard as possible to forget that I'm in an airport.

Also, Delta sucks. I have no concrete numbers of course, but just from my experience they seem to lose more bags, oversell and delay more flights than any other carrier I've flown. Throw in the fact that it's coming out of ATL and you might be waiting a lot longer than you think.

wasn't there a new IATA law/rule which said that on commercial flights if you get delayed for more than 30 mins (or was that an hour?) the airline has to compensate you or something like that...?

Edit: But yeah, DL is purposefully over-selling all their flights these days.

Well, I confess that DL has never actually lost my bag either; however, I have three travel partners and each has lost their bag at least twice in the last year.

The drive from milwaukee to madison isn't that bad, and madison rocks. If you have time look up the Chuchkey Bar on university ave (right downtown) because it rules.

Sounds good. Somewhere close to the campus where I can part a full length pickup (as in, no frigging parralel parking) would be good. Are you at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center?

I was thinking somewhere near the capitol building near State St. I assume that's also near Univ. ave. I am afraid my knowledge of Madison is weak.
