I know. Only reason I first tried In-N-Out was on my trip to Irvine last year. Although they have them here now in Texas.

Culvert's is also better for the price although not all of them have drive-thrus but the one around here does.

Anyone who says whataburger has better burgers than in&out has no taste, whatsoever. Whataburger patties are flavorless thin pieces of nothing.

Carls Jr. & Hardees are far better than both, but again, more expensive.

Well done fries aren't bad.. but still not a huge fan. Double double with grilled onions is my favorite FF burger.

This times one million. The fries are an inedible mass of undercooked potato if not well done.

I didn't actually love In and Out upon my first couple encounters but it grows on you like a fungus until every fiber of your being simultaneously cries out for it's righteous sustenance.

Animal style well-done fries are pretty good but they'll clog your arteries in real time.

In-N-Out is not "pretty crappy." They use only fresh ingredients, nothing frozen, you won't get a better burger at any other chain anywhere IMO.

The same describes Five Guys.

After watching Harold & Kumar and eating the frozen white castles, I made the pilgrimage to a WC while I was in NJ.

The only thought in my mind while actually consuming the real thing was "Fucking disgusting" - all I could taste was ketchup and grease.

Bought 6 sliders, we ate 3 between the 3 of us.


Clearly I was not stoned/hungry enough.

well, weed was like $70/2grams in NYC, so I would have needed at least $300 in pre-meal enhancements to get me to the right spot.

and yes, tasting only ketchup/grease is a bad thing. It may not have been as bad if they used a fraction of the ketchup, but as I got them the balance was so wrong.

In and Out is an acquired taste, not the best burger in general, and not because its the best fast food burger, but because its unique and when you want one there is no substitute.

Best burger is homemade fresh off the grill.

Best dine out burger, Claim Jumper Widow Maker.
