Hate to be the naysayer, but despite her singing ability, she seemed detached from the song. She didn't get the nuances that made the original good.
It was an awesome performance of the song, but I agree with you wholeheartedly on this. For a long time, I thought that the reason for so much emotion in the original version is that Plant was writing about someone he had loved. Original - emotion. Heart's version: excellent band, outstanding voice, lacks emotion. (I'm not saying that Heart did a bad job - I'd give them at least a 9.5 out of 10.)Hate to be the naysayer, but despite her singing ability, she seemed detached from the song. Does anybody who's seen "Celebration Day" know why Page has the 'A' & 'N' letters on his Orange amp heads taped out? He's listed on their site as a spokesman artist.
Thanks. A few posters on Orange forums said that also.If I recall, it's a running joke (orge--->orgy)
Heh heh... I rewound my DVR to make sure I heard that too.The only thing I didn't get was when she was barjing a stairway to heaven.
