Just felt like making a 'good lord, how have I existed without this product' thread.

As a total cracker of the variety that is not emo, hipster, goth, or any of those other 'specific' things...and that doesn't wear business clothes...I, of course, wear nothing but sneakers. Generally keep one 'good' pair, and wear the previous 'good' pair to work in. Which means I usually end up buying new shoes because I need a new pair of shitty old sneakers for work. Heh.

I feel like I'm just going to have to get a second pair of these, though:

http://www.skechers.com/style/53560/skechers-on-the-go-court/bkbl

Most comfortable 'casual' sneakers I've ever had. Super light, with soft, thin uppers...no freaking plastic or anything to rub through the liner and jab me in the ankle...with overall feel of everything you need and nothing you don't. And the soles are stupid soft. The outer part has a 'give' to it that I have not ever encountered before. Seems like a pretty basic, inexpensive material, but just makes me think 'wow, that's some good modern materials engineering right there.'

Oddly enough, they also have shoes with advertised 'memory foam,' but it's just thick insoles on harder outsole material. On the variety of shoes with this sole (there's a bunch), though, it's like the whole thing is one cohesive material that seems the epitome of a 'memory foam' for your feet.

Highly recommended shoes. That's all. Have worn all kinds before, usually of the general 'running shoe' variety...New Balance, Aasics, Saucony, even Nikes (sometimes comfortable but god their durability is shit)...most of the companies that make a decent running shoe. None have been this 'different.'

These shoes cost SIXTY BUCKS!! I bet 90% of ATOTers barely have $60 invested in their entire wardrobe. Your recommendation here will fall upon mostly deaf ears.

I've got some leather sketchers with a heel that is over 2" tall. And they're great shoes. They are low tops and very very wide, which is great for me because most of the time I have to go double wide and a size larger(13 mens) than what I need for them to fit.

I've had them for 8 years now and they're still very comfortable. I wish I would have bought 10 pairs of them when they were still available.

Totally agree Sketchers has decent shoes.

I just picked up these

http://www.skechers.com/style/53560/skechers-on-the-go-court/wnv

Unbelievable how light they are. Super comfortable. Also got another pair that I cant seem to find on their website.

They have a ton of choices and you can actually find decent looking solid color shoes.

All these stupid tennis shoes now with their crazy neon ugly ass colors! </old man rant>

Thanks, I'll check them out if I can find locally. I have a hard time finding shoes that comfortably fit my foot.

Wearing the brand right now, different model. Yours are curious, I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

I think all the models with that tread design (the big circles) are more or less the same shoe. Anything with 'GO' in the name, it looks like.

I've been wearing sketchers steel toe boots at work for 6 yrs or more. They are the most comfortable ones I've ever worn.

they look horrible....why was there a need to put awful blue color around the shoe? if it was all black/gray/white/whatever, then it would have been fine

Nah, I actually work at my job, and learned it is worth it to spend some extra bucks on your feet. I am in some Carolinas now that cost me $270, and have pretty much never spent less than $200 on work boots. It is worth it when you are on your feet up and down ladders all day.

They come in different colors, as seen on the website.

Been a fan of Sketchers for years. I have two pair...one is a brown leather pair of sneakers that still look good after 2 years.

That's like 2 members, and they're constantly made fun of by the 90% who go cloth shopping at the same place they buy their groceries. Definitely not the normal here.

Carhartt and Wrangler/Riggs mainly here. Maybe he is alluding to the puffed up personas many project here, the quarter million dollar sports cars and supermodel spouses?

I like ragging ATOT as much as the next, but I think you are spot on in the reality department versus what we read.

He was alluding to nerds buying their clothes at Walmart or something more of that nature. It's not even terribly relevant today as even at Walmart, a half-decent pair of shoes is $30-40 or more.

And yeah, there are probably a few with a collection of Bruno Maglis or some other over-priced Italian shit. Or whatever is considered 'cool' and/or declares that you have money to burn these days.

And yeah again, most of Sketchers shoes come in multiple color schemes. The ones I referred to have three on the same page, but there are also different 'models' that are just minor variations. I like that when you find a certain shoe that you really like the build of, you've got a bit of aestetic choice. I chose to have blue on mine 'cause why the fuck not? They're not for completing the perfect fashion statement; they're sneakers. And while I don't typically wear 'loud' shoes, I like ones with a bit going on. I'll save my solid brown sneakers for when I have to wear a suit. ;P

I'm kind of partial to Sperry Topsiders for casual shoes. This is a shoe I can wear with no socks and they just get better as they age. There are many copies but none as good as the original.
