In-Dash DVD MP3 Players

Wow, it's finally out, I've been waiting for an In-Dash MP3 Player that would play DVD-R's. Check this out. I could finally have 4.7GB's of Mp3's in my car.

This is affordable too - $215 shipped with Price Grabber.

Has anyone else seen any of these worth buying? This one doesn't come with an LCD screen, but has room for expansion. I can't seem to find somewhere to buy JUST the LCD, and I wouldn't know where to mount it?

Eh, I've had 2 JVC mp3 cd decks and they've both been awesome pieces of equipment. They work well with mp3's and they don't take forever to switch between songs (unlike my friend's 2 seperate eclipse decks)

Nothing wrong with JVC... my personal opinion of eclipse is overpriced underperformance.

i dont get it..... never heard of that brand and have done a crap load of car audio shopping. visiting hole-in-the-wall shops (chopshops?) to anem brand stores to everywhere online that is possible.

alpines are sweet, but I :heart: my pioneer that I just got.

I got a pioneer unit: DVH-P5000MP

Works great! Not sure about reading DVD-R media though.

There's a reason I bought a $99 Dual MP3 deck. That reason? Carputer (pending installation after I add a few more features). Take your 4.7gigs of DVDR and shove it, I have 250gb and can upload over 802.11g from anywhere or 10/100 eth from a laptop.

How much was your 250gb and the parts for a carputer? I meant if you get this deck around $200 you only have to spend $1 for one Blank DVD-R and Get 4.7GB's of music anytime.

Nah, no trouble at all. This one reads OBDII, auto-power-on, auto-power-off, low power consumption, low profile (it actuallly fits into my freaking dashboard), boot time to the stripped Linux is less than the time it takes my HU to read an MP3 disc, it's completely seemless. Plug in the OBDII connector, slip it into the dash, plug it into the rear aux on the head unit, press the AUX button on the head unit, forget it ever existed. I still havn't decided where I'm going to mount the 10/100 port, though.
