Hawkeye was one of the first people who pm?d me helping me with some basic question about a scan or something. I was quite new to this hotdeal board, and overjoyed to find a place where there were like-minded folks. I always thought that everyone likes a great deal, but let?s face it, some of the schemes and gyrations we go through to get a deal put us at the fringe of the general population.

Anyway Hawkeye was one of those folks who opened my eyes to the fact that an online gather of people is truly a community of people in every sense of the word.

Wherever he is, I'm sure got in with a discount.

It appears we have lost a wonderful contributor to these forums...I hope his family is doing well and wish them the best.

That was a great replica post. I had forgotten how he'd throw in the strange item at the end and how it would confuse a lot of people...funny stuff! Hey, Mods, Is there anyway we can resurrect an old classic post of his to sticky up for a couple days to remember him by? That would be a great thing for me and the people that weren't here and didn't get a chance to know him. He was very courteous to me and we PMed each other a few times. He would always give me credit in his thread to any new info I'd provide him. No offense to anyone else here, but he was probably the #1 member here at AT.

HawkeyeNJ was the closest connection I had to the horrible attacks on New York. I miss his posts of where to buy what and when. He saved me tons of $$$. The forums will never be the same without him.

folks, just because it says 9-23 doesnt mean anything. There's a good possibility that if he was part of 9/11 that a relative booted up his computer and he had AT his home page.

Regardless, the old man was a fantastic contributor and should be remembered regardless of how he left our community, and ultimately, the world.

I believe mods can check when was the last time he logged on. Hopefully it would be after Sept 11, 2001.

By the way, I work in Wall Street, NY. The ceremony for memorial 911 is still in process.
