Doubtful. Every paycheck (every two weeks) would be high. Every month would be a bit low, but not much.

You aren't kidding. When I had my surgery last Feb, the bill (luckily covered by insurance) was almost 5k just for her. I can see it becoming a problem when the patient is supposed to wake up and doesn't. That might get hairy.

that's what I'm saying...when I fuck up at my job someone is missing a 0 from their paycheck. When an anesthesiologist fucks up, someone isn't going home to their family and a lawsuit is coming in the mail.

I watched the documentary Widowmaker. There is a guy in the movie who makes an insane amount of money doing nothing but stent surgery a few days a week.

My sister is a nurse anesthetist (CRNA). She cleared just short of 300k last year working a lot of overtime. She did pay out the butt for mal-practice insurance though.

If you were an anesthesiologist right now you would be in a good position. My best friend is one, he is in his early 30s and he has a million dollar house and a Tesla.

I wouldn't recommend someone get into the field though if they were in say college or high school. Our healthcare system costs too much, and eventually we will have to move towards having nurses do the job of doctors (at a discount). When this shift happens anesthesiologists will be the first to go.

This. I believe anesthesia is typically one of the higher risks during most surgeries. They also get to poke your freaking spine with a three inch needle. I have zero problem with people who have my life in their hands earning a lot of money.

Enough to warrant high insurance rates. Most surgery "issues" are with the anesthesiologist.

Lol, you think nurses will work for a discount? They're all unionized and will go on strike the second they dont get their mandated 10% annual raise and pension paid off. Nurses around here easily clear 2-300K with OT.

Eventually quantity wins over quality. It is easier to make new nurses and flood the market.

Yeah I wish I had gone to medical school to be a dentist or optometrist (non-surgical) or some other half assed "doctor" thing.

I would have also settled for porn star but apparently you have to do gay gigs before you get to bang the women so that option went up in smoke pretty quick.

Flooding the field wont work, theyll be like lawyers, youll either be making money, or be employed as something else.
