Five Guys > In & Out
the craziest revelation of this thead: you can order a chocolate/strawberry shake at in n out. its like every in n out visit ive had prior to this moment has been a lie
As far as finding a good balance of quality, convenience and cost goes: In-N-Out Burger beats Five Guys Burgers. Add in the fact that they have shakes and stay open late is the clincher. Kudos to Five Guys though for making a pretty damn good burger and for offering free peanuts.
Five Guys is good for the toppings offered, but the burgers themselves at In-N-Out are better.
I have to tell you a Five Guys secret, though. The best thing on the menu is the hot dog.
.....now I'm hungry for a burger.
Lincecum is young, works out like a beast and thusly has a high metabolism.
In other words, he can afford to eat like that if he so wishes.
If you do that after 40, on a semi-regular basis, then you have no excuse to look the way you look (i.e. like a hamburger).
Exactly, this thread now has me plotting out my plan of attack for In-N-Out after work. I know it'll be a double-double animal style with fries, but cant decide whether to go with the usual strawberry-vanilla swirl shake or try out the root beer float. Decisions decisions...
Have you ever tried the fries "well done"? I always though in-and-out fries were a little soggy for my liking, then I realized I can order them well done and they are nice and crispy. Plus I'm assured to get fresh ones b/c they have to make them special....although they are all fresh since they go through so many so fast they don't have time to sit around in the bin.
Actually that seems like a lot of food for 3,000 calories. If you've ever eaten at the cheesecake factory then you've probably had that many calories in one meal before.

I hate skinny people who just eat whatever they want all the time and don't have to worry about it at all.
I watched my friend eat a 17x17 (17 patties, 17 cheese) from In-N-Out. They laid the burger on its side and wrapped it like a 'U' in one of their plastic trays.
My other friend did a 22x22, but I did not witness that. Both friends had severe issues in the following days.
I think I've only done 5x5.
As a math guy, that terminology ("4x4" = "four-by-four") always drives me nuts. I'd rather call it a "four-and-four" or something.
No this again. People have said that Five Guys is fine but it's insanely expensive and not worth the huge price increase.
Nah dude, that's how it is when you're still growing. I could destroy pretty much anything in front of me when I was 17. We used to drive down to Atlantic City and ravage the buffets.
