I've always been a Timex kind of guy, but I've become an adult and now want a decent watch that's casual, able to take a beating, leather band and costs less than $70. So all you watchies here, guide me.

I don't really know the techie term for them. I just followed what Trek lovers are called and went from there.
This is the one that's catching my eye Text

Metal = adult. Fabric (Nylon) = trendy teenager. Leather = geek.

Any opinion on this?
Skagen Watch with mesh metal band
I need a new watch but typically avoid metal bands because I have a freakin hairy wrist. Metal bands tend to pull on my hair sometimes and it drives me nuts. Mesh metal bands seem to be the ticket for me and this one has a nice, simple style to it. I'm leaning toward this one but I should go to the store and check it out for myself.

Why are people so materialistic?
It's a fucking watch.
Tells the damn time.
I personally find it hilarious how big of a deal this is for people.
And yes, i wear a cheapo Timex that cost me something like $50.
(I'm referring to the people in here categorizing them.)

People value things differently. I'm sure there are folks on a watch forum somewhere who would laugh at how much you paid to put the computer in your sig together.

Very true.
I guess what i was trying to say was that i don't get the amount of importance other place on how you look.
I.e., being judged because of what watch you wear or clothers you wear or shoes you have.
But this is another thread/topic, nevermind me. I just hate society in general...
